Pousada Convento de Arraiolos – Historic Hotel

"I stayed at this Pousada with my husband, my brother and his wife to celebrate my birthday. I am Portuguese and my husband is English so we often travel to Portugal. I've stayed at many Pousadas and at other hotels in Portugal. Arraiolos is one of the best. The staff are very attentive and friendly, the rooms comfortable and clean, as well as functional and without losing the special character of the place as a former historic convent. It is set in lovely grounds, peaceful and quiet, just 1 or 2 km from the pretty village of Arraiolos - famous for its handcrafted rugs and a gateway to the Alentejo region - one of Portugal's most welcoming and least known provinces. The food both at breakfast and dinner was tasty and good quality. The bar could have a wider selection of drinks but it didn't matter in the end. The outdoor swimming pool is very pleasant. We all had a very enjoyable time. It was the second time we stayed at this Pousada and we loved it both times. "

"The perfect place to stay in Arraiolos! Joao is fantastic, so is Maria. The breakfast was perfect, and the rooms were impeccable! It is also very convenient for a day trip to Evora. Directly across the street from a great restaurant as well. Can't wait to return!"
