One of the ladies was always smiling and just adorable!"

"The room's cleanliness was neither great nor terrible 😄. The dinner was a buffet. The server gave my family three reservation times: 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00. We were told we had 1.5 hours to dine. We chose the 7:00 slot. The buffet food and alcoholic beverages were very different from what was advertised online. After 8:00, I started feeling like we were being rushed out 🥲. Wasn't it supposed to be an all-you-can-eat for 1.5 hours? We left at 8:15. Good thing we bought a bunch of food and drinks at lunchtime. The large public bath and hot spring facilities were decent. The breakfast buffet seemed much better than dinner. One experience was enough 😅."

"The large public bath, with both indoor and outdoor sections, plus a sauna, was incredibly relaxing. We couldn't use the hotel restaurant without a reservation, but it was only about a ten-minute drive to the city center, where there were plenty of dining and shopping options."

"I really enjoyed this ryokan. It has the best location in the center of the onsen village and right by the river. The kaiseki meals for breakfast and dinner were delicious and varied; we stayed for two days and two nights and never had the same dish twice. The room had everything we needed, we only wished there were more shelves or hooks. The staff was very attentive and hospitable. A special thank you to Rabina at the reception for her responsiveness and to Kuan who served us in the restaurant."
Kurokawa Onsen Ryokan Ichinoi
"The hotel is located uphill next to the information center, about 7 or 8 minutes' walk from the center of town, and it took me half an hour to get to Sanshuimu. It can accommodate children, so just fill in the number of people truthfully. This time, only breakfast is included in the one-night stay. We dine in the restaurant, one room and one compartment, which is not bad. As for hot springs, this hotel has two indoor and two outdoor ones (one for men and one for women), and four private baths (I didn't try them because they are charged separately and there is no particularly good view. The private bath is on the corridor to the large pond, which feels weird). Overall, Ichinoi is not big, with a total of 10 rooms on the two floors (it seems), and the services are very good. Inform the arrival time by email one day in advance, and the driver will pick you up at the station. When I left the next day, I wanted to go to the ikoi beauty bath near the station, so I left my luggage at the hotel after checking out, and the driver took it directly to the station on time (they will ask you about the bus time to leave), which is very good. Oh, and when we checked in, it was still on time, and the front desk lady knew that we were going to Sanshuimu and took the initiative to give us towels, bath towels and bags, which was very good and helped a lot. There is a Hubei girl who can speak Chinese. Overall it's good. I will come to Kurokawa again next time I have a chance. I like it here very much."

"The resort location is accessible actually by bus from tateno 立野 station and the last bus is in the evening you may check the timetable online. We did not drive and leaving the accommodation is less convenient because all taxis were booked out but the staff was very friendly as to driving us to the nearby train station to continue our journey to Aso Volcano. Service was good. The private onzen was amazing and we were able to use it for one hour. The public bath was good too but the amenities they provided inside were not as enough, eg they don't have comb for ladies and make up removing pads. Other than that, cleanliness was amazing and staff were friendly, rooms had amazing Mountain View's."

"Fantastic! The most comfortable night ever. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, with its own wooden tub for soaking in the hot spring. You could enjoy it at your preferred temperature. They also provided tea and capsule coffee. Highly recommend it!"

"Great baths, delicious food. We had a wonderful vacation. They helped us find a great spot to watch the sunrise, so we were able to enjoy sightseeing in Aso to the fullest. I was surprised at how noisy it was during the overlapping dinner time, but once the early bird guests had left, we were able to enjoy our meal in peace. We only received one card key, so it would have been convenient if we had received two, as it would have made it easier to return from the men's and women's baths."

"We booked this hotel after seeing the recommendation on Xiaohongshu. We drove by ourselves, but it took us a lot of effort to find the location of this hotel. This is a day-return hot spring, which means it is usually for guests who take a bath during the day and leave at night, so the room facilities are relatively simple. The road from the front desk to the room is basically in a primitive state, so we had to abandon the suitcases and walk about 100 meters to the room. The most exaggerated thing is that the hot spring water in the room is very, very hot, and it is impossible to put your feet in. Later, we put cold water in the hot spring for a while before we could soak."

"A great ryokan. Very clean and the room well-equipped. Kaiseki was delicious and varied. There are family-onsen and communal onsen within the ryokan itself. To soak in the open-air bath, you have to walk uphill across the river, which is not very convenient. Overall, I liked it. Keep in mind that the shower and bathrooms are shared and located in the onsen, while each room has its own toilet and sink. Overall, it's not inconvenient for a one-day stay."
