"The hotel is definitely not a 4 star. Top range 3 star at best. The room was clean. It was advertised as a king sized bed, however putting 2 single beds together is very misleading. The Italian restaurant, the staff are nice but the service is very very slow. Took me an hour to get food. The location is ideal. The sports centre is good and spacious. The pool is good fun. The gym needs a complete modernisation program. Not enough equipment and in a very small room. The sports centre could utiltse space more effectively and have a state of the art gym in the other bigger rooms. It would be used well, however this is sadly not the case. I will return and use this hotel in the future. The price is not cheep and if your expecting Hilton quality then this is not the hotel for you."

"The room was clean, and the two-bedroom family room had two bathrooms, which was very convenient. The hotel restaurant's breakfast was delicious, and overall I was very satisfied."

"Modern design. Pantry well equipped with microwave, plates and cutlery. House not far from the town, near to Tesco and Aldi stores. Required digital check in. Check out is seamless. However, do not expect daily housekeeping services. I contacted the receptionist for housekeeping after 2 days, she just told me to call the housekeeper instead. The room is not sound proof, can easily hear next door conversation and passing cars on the street."

"I booked this hotel because it shares the same name as a McDonald's burger joint, which felt familiar. The hotel is quite large for the area; although not new, it was cleaner than expected. The service was also exceptionally attentive. On our check-out day, we had to catch a train, so we checked out before breakfast started. The hotel thoughtfully prepared a packed breakfast for us within minutes. Additionally, there's something the booking platform needs to correct: the hotel doesn't offer ski lessons. The hotel could improve its communication with the platform to provide accurate information for future bookings."

"My girlfriend and I visited Ken and Gill for 2 nights in January of 2026. My girlfriend found the place on Instagram, and we made it the center piece of our travel to Scotland. We were very excited before arriving, but our experience there completely blew away our expectations. The hospitality that Ken and Gill provided us was the best I have ever had from a B&B. It truly felt that we were a part of their family, and I got the feeling that that is how they treat everyone. We stayed in the Glamping area, or as Ken said one of the “Hobbit Houses”. They were clean, beautiful, and incredibly romantic for a two night getaway. Gill made the most phenomenal breakfast each morning we were there (I would highly recommend paying for the breakfast), and Ken was able to give us recommendations for the best hikes while we were there. The hospitality was so great, when we could not call a cab to get our train back to Edinburgh, Ken drove us to the station! This is a must stop location in the winter, and I hope to come back to enjoy the barbecue set up that they had! 11/10"

"This hotel is strongly advised to be avoided. Because it's located in the town center, it's very popular and therefore doesn't care about bookings, completely ignoring customer needs. I booked a month in advance and requested a quiet room, but was given the noisiest one. There was a constant, loud roaring noise from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM. Upon investigation, I discovered that the restaurant kitchen was right below the room, and the powerful exhaust fan vent was right outside my window. The hotel exhibits serious discrimination; the guests are mostly middle-aged and elderly white people, and they deliberately give the worst rooms to Asians. The wait for a table at the restaurant is over an hour. I recommend avoiding this hotel; there are many other hotels to choose from in the surrounding area."
