"We spent two nights at Mavi and it's become one of the clearest highlights of our two-week trip. The location works well — close to the caves and the railway station, but tucked away from the highway with no traffic noise. You get the convenience without the chaos. The lobby sets the tone: minimalist and calm, with stonework that's genuinely worth pausing to look at. We'd requested a quiet corner room before check-in and they delivered — wooden furniture, a soft colour palette, and a rustic red brick ceiling that gave it real character. The bathroom was well-stocked and had enough space to actually move around with luggage. Small thing, big difference. The outdoor spaces are one of Mavi's real strengths. The pool is beautiful and the grounds feel open and unhurried. We tried the pool in the morning and it was a touch cold for a proper swim, but that didn't diminish the space at all. Dinner at the restaurant was the meal of the trip. We ordered dal, rice, and chicken tikka, asked for it spicy, and it arrived beautifully presented and tasted exactly as good as it looked. Reasonably priced too — the kind of meal where you feel like you got more than you paid for. Breakfast kept the standard high — paratha, yogurt, fruit, good coffee — and the outdoor swing in the dining area is the kind of small touch that makes you linger longer than planned. What makes Mavi stick in the memory, though, is the staff. Courteous, perceptive, and quietly attentive without being intrusive. They got the balance right in a way that's harder than it looks. If you're visiting Badami and Pattadakal, this is where we'd tell our friends to stay. Without hesitation."
