If you're driving to Wengding Village, you absolutely must stay at this hotel. It's right next to the scenic area, so you don't need to take the sightseeing bus. I recommend getting the room package that includes tickets, as it's cheaper than buying them separately. If you buy tickets on your own, they cost 65 yuan and include the sightseeing bus, whereas the hotel's ticket option only adds about 40 yuan to the price. Plus, the hotel's rates are budget-friendly, and everything else is pretty good. However, since the hotel is located on a mountain, the facilities are understandably limited. If you're very particular about your accommodation, then I'd suggest staying in Cangyuan County town instead.

We arrived in Wengding in the afternoon and booked a guesthouse for the night because we wanted to see the morning performance. The guesthouse was located in a local village, very close to the scenic area, and parking was convenient. The owner was a local Wa person, a very warm and welcoming older brother. The Baidou tea at the Red Tea House was delicious, and the staff who made the tea were friendly and professional. The staff in the Chinese restaurant and breakfast area were also very helpful, and the Western chef there even made egg rolls, which was surprising. We parked in the parking lot down the slope, with an elevator directly to the lobby.
