Highly recommended! This hotel offers exceptional value for money. The owner, a former designer, clearly put a lot of thought into every aspect of the hotel's design. The bedding and smart features are on par with what you'd find in a chain hotel. It's also very close to Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area, and the owner even provides a business car for transfers, which was a huge plus!

Anonymous UserThe hotel is quite new, and the room was lovely, with a pleasant scent upon entering. The pillows were very comfortable, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of options. In the front desk area, there's complimentary fruit tea, coffee, hot water, and oranges. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to the Tourist Center, which you can book at the front desk (it's just a few minutes away from the Huangguoshu Third Tourist Center). There's a gym and a laundry room (though it gets busy with people washing and drying clothes in the evening; you can check availability on the room TV and scan a code to see your laundry's status). This is my second stay at an Orange branded hotel, and overall, it's been a great experience. Highly recommended!

What an unexpected gem of a hotel! From the moment I stepped into the room until my reluctant departure, every detail redefined my understanding of what a 'travel sanctuary' could be. It wasn't just a room; it was a period of time enveloped in tenderness. The榻榻米 tea area by the window, the room layout, the bathing space – all simple yet incredibly elegant. The hotel breakfast was an absolute delight! A nine-compartment wooden bento box, brimming with delicious, homely flavors. And the service details – from the front desk staff, to the shuttle service, and even the kitchen auntie – I felt pampered at every turn. I experienced a 'five-star feeling of happiness' here, not because of luxurious facilities, but because of the warmth of being treated like family while on a journey.

Guest UserHighly recommend this guesthouse! The environment is fantastic: lush lawns, dense forests, adorable animals, and individual wooden houses… The service is also excellent: our class reunion team-building event had over thirty people, and the manager and staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, from setting up the buffet to arranging the bonfire party. They even created a special service group for us, always ready to assist us. In short, it was a very meaningful team-building event that ended perfectly. Many thanks to the entire guesthouse staff for their hard work and to the owner for the generous discounts!

This guest house is about 10 mins (1km) walk from Huangguoshu ticket office/public coach terminal stop. So if you are travelling light, it's ok. Otherwise, it could be a bit incovenience. You may find the neighbourhood not that appealing, but it's convenient to find restaurants around.
The place is really spacious, clean and tidy. I slept well while staying there. The girl at the reception is very helpful and friendly. Dont get put off by its location. It's worth to stay.

Guest UserAt the beginning of the month, my travel companion, “Peking Duck” (my child), and I explored four small cities in Guizhou – Guiyang, Anshun, Bijie, and Xingyi. We thoroughly experienced the karst landscapes, caves, waterfalls, and pastoral scenery, all in a comfortably cool climate. Here's a comprehensive guide to share with everyone!
⭕️ Guizhou Geological Museum (reservations required, closed on Mondays, last admission at 4 PM): You can book a guided tour with fossil restoration activities, which is very interesting.
⭕️ Qingyun Market: A great place to eat and explore (definitely try Guiyang's Sour Soup Hotpot – the flavor is unique compared to other regions).
⭕️ Yelang Valley (watch Nuo opera, two shows daily: 12:00-12:30 PM and 3:00-3:30 PM. Kids who enjoy crafts can try plant carving).
⭕️ I personally don't recommend Zhijin Cave for families with young children or the elderly! However, Zhijin Grand Canyon is highly recommended. Enter via the elevator, and the entire route is a downhill walk, making it very lazy-friendly. The scenic beauty is truly impressive and worth a visit!
⭕️ Guizhou Guanling National Fossil Group Geological Park (the fossil digging area is open, but the museum area will open in late July).
⭕️ Huangguoshu Waterfall (‼️ Water Curtain Cave requires reservations and raincoats are a must!). For a lazy-friendly approach: take the round-trip elevator and capture a panoramic shot from above. If you're not up for a lot of walking, you can skip Tianxing Bridge; seeing the main waterfall is breathtaking enough! And a shout-out to the park staff – every restroom is spotless, some even have toilet seat covers!
⭕️ Fenglin Buyi (consider going in the evening when the lights are on – the scenery is even more beautiful. You can experience Buyi culture, songs and dances, iron flower performances, and other unique shows. There are many fun NPC mini-games in the scenic area. Watching the iron flower show from a boat offers a more direct and spectacular view).
⭕️ Kids will absolutely love a full day at Wanfenglin! Fishing, mini-train rides, woodworking, tie-dyeing, fruit picking, making Ciba (sticky rice cakes), and so much more – they'll never want to leave! When they get tired, relaxing at a popular cafe is pure bliss!
⭕️ Maling River Canyon (known as 'the most beautiful scar on Earth.' The scenic area closes at 5:30 PM. For an aerial view, navigate to 'Maling River Canyon Parking Lot 2').
Tips:
‼️ Guizhou attractions can be physically demanding. If you're traveling with children and have limited stamina, opt for lazy-friendly routes.
‼️ Mornings and evenings are cool, but it can be quite sunny during other times, so bring plenty of sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
‼️ Some attractions require advance reservations, so plan your itinerary accordingly!
‼️ Bring raincoats for Maling River and Huangguoshu, and wear non-slip shoes.
‼️ For Zhijin Cave, avoid wearing long pants or white shoes as it can get muddy! The cave temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius, so bring a jacket.
Among the hotels we stayed at, 'Peking Duck' loved the Huangguoshu Kaiyuan Manju Hotel the most. It offers many parent-child activities, new facilities, and delicious dining!
We enjoyed a cool summer with temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius throughout our trip, without any high-intensity rushing. We experienced city life, majestic gorges and waterfalls, underground marvels, pastoral peak forests, and ethnic minority customs all at once. The best classroom is always on the road; what you see with your own eyes is far more memorable than what you read in books. It’s time to get out there with the kids!

Hotel is in a great location within the scenic reserve. It is around 360m from the VIP station if you decide to purchase the 3 day VIP tickets which was the best decision we’ve made: no bus queues and exclusive stops, routes and exemptions. Only 100m from the hotel affords you a great view of the Huangguoshu waterfall, continue on a bit further you get various viewpoints which are increasingly amazing. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

XiaoduiqingshanThis hotel is excellent! It's very close to the attractions, and the service is great. It's a new hotel with good facilities. I specifically chose this one because it's right next to the scenic area and they offer a VIP shuttle service to the Huangguoshu Falls entrance, which is super convenient. All the staff members are very friendly. The front desk attendant who checked us in was lovely, and especially on the day of check-out, we needed to get to the First Tourist Center. We had used the VIP shuttle service on previous days, but when I called to request it for check-out, the car wasn't dispatched. I'm not sure why it worked fine the two days before but not on the last day. I explained the situation to the front desk, and a young man there, after understanding our predicament, immediately consulted with his supervisor and arranged for the hotel's own car to take us to the First Tourist Center (since I was traveling with my parents and it would have been difficult with luggage). I particularly want to thank the staff member named Tian Di; his attitude was excellent, and he was able to help us solve an unexpected problem, showing great initiative. Both hardware and software are crucial for a good hotel, and Manxin Mansion is fantastic. I'll definitely stay here again if I have the chance!

Guest UserMany online reviews mention that this hotel is old, and it's true that the facilities aren't new anymore. My room had a small hallway upon entering, with a door on each side – one to the bathroom and one to the bedroom. The bedroom door was warped and wouldn't close properly, but since there's an outer main door, it wasn't an issue. Plus, the room was very clean. The location is absolutely fantastic; you can enter the scenic area directly from the hotel's entrance without needing to take a shuttle. I entered the Great Waterfall scenic area at 7 AM, including the Water Curtain Cave, and by 8:15 AM, I was already having breakfast in the hotel restaurant. This advantage makes the slightly older facilities completely acceptable. The hotel also offers shuttle service to and from the bus station, which is a huge plus. The only drawback is that the hotel's dining options are very limited and overpriced. After one meal, I really didn't want to eat there again, and there were no other dining choices nearby, which was a bit inconvenient.

I must praise the hotel's attention to detail! The bathroom was spotless with a separate shower and toilet, the toiletries had a pleasant, light fragrance, and the breakfast had a wide variety of choices, including local specialty rice noodles. The value for money was outstanding, and I've already recommended it to my friends. The receptionist, Xiao Chen, provided excellent service—attentive and patient. Thumbs up!
