Maafushi Hotels with Balcony

"The room was absolutely satisfying – quite spacious with a large and comfortable double bed. The sea view from the balcony was excellent. The ground floor (G level) houses the restaurant, while what Trip.com calls the 'first floor' rooms (standard sea view rooms) are actually on the second floor. Deluxe sea view rooms, which are slightly more expensive, are on the third floor and above. The hotel guests are a mix of Europeans/Americans and Chinese. The front desk staff spoke English and I experienced no discrimination whatsoever. Some reviews mentioned that higher floors were given to Westerners, but perhaps they just booked a second-floor room to begin with. Actually, the second-floor rooms are also beautiful, perfectly level with the palm trees. Because Trip.com noted my booking as a 'first floor' room (which is actually the second floor, as the actual first floor is the 'G' level with only the restaurant and front desk, no rooms), I specifically requested a deluxe sea view room on a higher floor than the first, and I was given a room on the fifth floor with an amazing view. When arriving by speedboat, a dedicated staff member was there to pick us up. Although it was only about 200 meters, the hotel still used a golf cart for us and a three-wheeled vehicle for our luggage, delivering everything directly to our room after check-in. When departing, the front desk booked our speedboat tickets for us. The front desk manager personally saw us off to the golf cart and politely asked about our stay experience. The staff carried our luggage all the way to the boat. The service was truly superb. On our first day, we went out to sea, and I left my underwear on the bed since I was wearing my swimsuit. When we returned, the room had been cleaned, and my pajamas and underwear were neatly folded and arranged on the bed. Because the room attendant was male, my daughter and I felt a bit embarrassed. For the following days, we put up the 'Do Not Disturb' sign, and after returning in the afternoon, we only requested fresh towels and water refills. The staff would still often ask if we needed our room cleaned – the service was truly outstanding. The ground floor breakfast area has plenty of seating, and breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, which is perfect for not delaying our excursions. There's a wide variety of food, including egg pancakes and corn pancakes that cater to Chinese tastes. I didn't pre-book dinner, but there was a good selection, costing $20 per person, and cash payment was accepted. There are many island excursions available, offering plenty of deep-sea experiences and photo opportunities. All in all, my experience at Kaani Hotel on Maafushi Island was fantastic, and I highly recommend it."

"The staff were all great. The only issue was that as a family of four, there were no triple rooms available, so we had to book two double rooms. The sea view was decent, but the rooms and beds were too small, so the sleep quality wasn't the best."

"The hotel was incredibly easy to find, practically right in front of me as soon as I arrived in Maafushi. It was so close to the airport that I didn't have to wander around at all after my transfer, which was a huge relief with all my luggage. Its accessibility also made it super convenient for tours and getting around during my stay. There were tons of cafes and restaurants nearby, perfect for grabbing a bite or just relaxing. The location was ideal for soaking in the Maafushi vibe. A big plus was the really fast Wi-Fi; I had no issues using the internet, and uploading photos or streaming videos during my trip was completely stress-free, which I really appreciated. The pool was well-maintained and pleasant to use, and the panoramic views of Maafushi from there were absolutely stunning. My only minor gripe was that I didn't find the staff to be exceptionally friendly, which was a bit of a letdown. However, overall, the convenience and location of this accommodation made it a thoroughly satisfying stay."

"Seaview is a must if you will be choosing any of the Kaani hotels' room. Seaview rooms are often in demand and on high prices but lucky enough to be able to book 2 days during peak season, same day. Staff and excursion teams are very helpful, theybreally do their best to take care of you. Team Octopus(excursion team) really takes care of you and get you nice pictures and videos of the excursion. 1 day tour is a must to get in Maafushi Island. Bfast is decent but dont eat too much if you will be doing the sharkbay tour as you will be proned to seasick. 5 days travel to Maldives as a whole is a enough."

"Cleanliness – 4/5 The room itself was very clean and well maintained. However, if you choose to have breakfast outdoors, there are quite a lot of mosquitoes and flies. Overall, the room cleanliness is good, just be prepared for insects in the outdoor dining area. Location – 4/5 The hotel is located slightly behind the main area, so it’s farther from popular spots and restaurants. But the upside is that it’s much quieter and more peaceful, which we appreciated. Service – 1/5 Initially, we felt the service deserved 5 stars because the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience with a new kitchen staff member that changed our overall impression. When ordering breakfast, his attitude was already unfriendly. Later, while waiting for breakfast to be served, we moved outside to enjoy the sea view. He loudly shouted at us saying we could not sit side-by-side and had to sit facing each other. His tone was unnecessarily rude. There were many empty tables and we would have cooperated if he had simply explained politely — and in fact, we still complied. Because of the mosquitoes and flies outdoors, we decided to move back inside before the food arrived. He then shouted again, complaining that we kept changing seats, even though the restaurant only had two tables occupied （included us）and breakfast had not even been prepared yet. The most uncomfortable moment was when he came to ask if we were checking out that day and strongly insisted that we check out 15 minutes earlier than the 12pm-official time. We explained that we would check out on time as agreed during check-in, but he kept insisting that 15 minutes earlier “makes no difference.” When I asked if we could then check out 15 minutes later (since late check-out costs USD10 per hour), he could not answer but continued pressuring us to leave early. When we raised this to the reception (senior staff), he repeatedly came over and loudly denied everything and continued insisting it was “only 15 minutes.” This was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. Amenities – 3/5 Nothing particularly special, but acceptable for a budget hotel. Overall A clean and peaceful budget hotel, but the experience was unfortunately affected by one staff member’s rude behavior."

"Before leaving China, we contacted the manager of the hotel. He arranged for staff to pick us up at the airport and helped us buy speedboat tickets for 20 US dollars each. At the dock, the staff used a cart to carry all our luggage to the room upstairs. The service was thoughtful and enthusiastic. The room was large, the supplies were very new, and the living was very comfortable. There were 4 kinds of breakfast every morning, you could choose one or combine two breakfasts. The service staff was very responsive and enthusiastic. We were worried that there would not be enough water on the island and we needed to buy mineral water with US dollars, but the hotel provided unlimited drinking water. We were worried that there might be a lot of mosquitoes on the island. We communicated with the manager before checking in and asked him to spray insecticide in advance. There were no mosquitoes in the room. But be careful to turn off the bathroom light when you go to sleep, otherwise the mosquitoes outside will enter from the entrance of the bathroom. We chose to eat breakfast in the room, which avoided mosquitoes outside. There is a clothes drying rack outside the room. The roof is made of wood and is very unique. It rained every night and was sunny during the days we were here. The room is surrounded by residents and is very quiet, unlike the popular hotels that play rock music all day long. It is 10 minutes away from the beach and 10 minutes away from the pier. Overall, I am very satisfied. The owner is very enthusiastic and often chats with us to help us solve temporary difficulties."

"It was beyond our expectation. We were upgraded to Dakani, which was a good deal. The room was big. The service was provided by a black guy who added taige. It was very nice. Children had to pay an extra 30 USD per day. We booked at a very cheap price of 500 RMB/day. The free upgrade felt like we made 1 million. We were very lucky because the speedboat from Maafushi back to the airport was indeed 15 USD/person. There was a sign at the entrance of the hotel. Maafushi was really fun. Going out to sea to snorkel with sharks was a life of vogue. The best way to explore Maldives is to go to a residential island + a resort island. By the way, the Furawasi that we went to later was really beautiful. The sea view was the most beautiful in Furawasi among the three islands in Maldives I have been to. It was a super tricolor sea!"

"The room was clean and a reasonable size, bathroom was adequate, bed was a good size and comfortable. Good balcony with a sea view. The location is perfect right on the bikini beach. The reception was unmaned  and check-in takes place at another Kaani hotel which is less than 100 metres away. The reception was efficient friendly and helpful. The breakfast also took place at the sister hotel, unfortunately the breakfast was poor. Maafushi itself has lost the local island feel dominated by hotels but that does mean there are plenty of restaurants and mocktail options. As a local island no alcohol is available on the island but there is a floating bar if you get desperate for a few beers but probably only worth it if you are desperate"
