Drakes is the perfect base for your visit to the English seaside and its jewel – the great city of Brighton. Famed for its Victorian pier, extraordinary Royal Pavilion, the Lanes with its galleries and independent shops, Brighton has long inspired writers, artists and visitors from afar. Located on Marine Parade, five minutes from the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Pier, Sea Lanes swimming, Soho House, the War Memorial and close to Kemptown Races, Drakes is the ideal place to explore the city, to enjoy the sea and beaches, to experience its famous social scene and to watch the glorious sunsets from our Cocktail Bar (or your bedroom) with a tipple or two. Due to the historic layout of Drakes Hotel, the building does not have lift access to the upper floors. To ensure your comfort, if you require a lower or more accessible floor, please make this request upon booking so we can ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible.
"The room is located on the top floor. It has a small balcony where you can enjoy the sea breeze. The room is not big and is different from the booked room type. I made a special note of the required room type before! It’s a pity that I didn’t stay in the room type I wanted this time, but the hotel is in a good location."

LLeopold StarrailPerfect hotel! My room on the 7th floor was spacious with modern amenities. It had three windows facing the sea, ideal for anyone who loves just staying in and gazing at the ocean (like me, haha). Breakfast was a standard English breakfast; I recommend trying the omelets. The staff were very welcoming, always greeting guests and offering help. On check-in day, it was raining, so I asked to check in early, and the front desk sorted it out immediately. I'll definitely be back; this will be my go-to hotel whenever I'm in Brighton, lol!
TTaroSuper cute hotel, only minutes away from the beach. Quiet place slightly further out from the busy bars but close enough to walk. Lovely staff really chatty and helpful. Offered places to go and visit. We would highly recommend it and Would be more than happy to go back again
LLisaB72I booked for myself and my sister for a night away for our Birthdays.
We had a lovely stay, our room was upgraded and we had a wonderful sea view. We were given a lovely gift which was so kind and thoughtful and really made our stay extra special.
The room was large, with a seating area and a very huge comfy bed.
Everything we needed for a relaxing night away. Robes & Slippers Perfect
Buffet breakfast was very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful.
We shall definitely return.
Thank you so much x
GGuest UserA stay with my adult daughter for passing her Degree. Her 1st time in Brighton. At a lucky request gave me a partial sea view which was in fact excellent large room, comfy bed a with a gorgeous bay with full view sun. All staff were attentive, friendly and inclusive.
There’s a real charm and nostalgic atmosphere about the old building that is on the beach front enabling Breakfast to see the sea. The only reason I have not given a 5 star 🌟 is due to some signs of wear and tear / dated chairs although they were comfy and snug. Thanks to all Queens staff we will be back
GGuest UserThis is a great Hotel right on sea front , easy walking distance to Town Centre. Quirky interesting entrance lobby and bar . Staff friendly and well presented . I was travelling on my own and had room only . This was spotless and comfortable , good temperature , comfy bed. I have stayed some years ago and breakfast was good. I would recommend and will definitely stay again as very good value .
GGuest UserThe room was modern and clean and the staff were friendly but the best bit about this hotel is the location - on the seafront and close to shops bars and restaurants.
The spa area was a bit disappointing, it’s more a leisure centre and very busy when we visited so don’t expect too much relaxation as there are not even loungers to sit/lie on.
We didn’t eat breakfast in the hotel as there are many great restaurants in Brighton so I cannot comment on the brekkie.
We attended the NYE dinner/dance at the hotel and it was brilliant! Great entertainment, lovely food - a fabulous time had by all and a lovely way to see in 2026!
Brighton in general is a lovely place to visit, lots of bars, restaurants and shops - especially the Lanes which is full of small independents which are just fab!
There’s lots to do and see! We took a short walk from the hotel to the i360 tower. A great way to see Brighton from the sky and we managed to catch it at sunset - so magical! I would definitely recommend!
SSHICHAOThe hotel is centrally located, backed by a business district and a 10-minute walk from Brighton Pier. Good service at the front desk, convenient check-in and check-out. The Travelodge Hotel is relatively simple, but it is neat and tidy. There is nothing to be nitpicking in general.
GGuest UserThe staff is amazing from a to z, also bed linens and towels are clean like new. The mattress was very comfortable and good quality. The breakfast was very basic English with filtered coffee. But the building is almost falling apart which is a shame. It takes 15-20 minutes in bus A5 or 5 for £3 one way, which is quite handy. The free parking is fairly good and also handy. The cost for a double room was £175 and I believe that was way higher than it should. All I’m saying is that if I would have known, I could get a much nicer hotel for that amount.
GGuest UserThe room was not large, but it felt modern and clean, just like the picture! The location was good, but it was disappointing for a place where 4 people went and paid 80,000 won per person. There was no elevator and the bathroom was shared... ㅠ But I think that date was a bit expensive. I looked up other dates and it was just a little cheaper. I would have been 99% satisfied! The bathroom was clean, but there was no shampoo. They gave us one towel each.
