Hotel Sommeiller
"The infrastructure might not be the newest, but really you have everything you need. Plus, a shout-out to the choices for breakfast: they thought about people with intollerances, which they rarely do. There were 3 options of plant-based milk and that was wonderful. Thank you! And the staff is nice and helpful."
Residence Villa Frejus
"Great apartment. Comfortable and clean. Friendly lady checked us in. It was in a good position for the bus stops to get to either campo smith and jafferau slopes and free buses. Good position for the Main Street with the shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Even managed to watch television in English which was good for a bit of down time from skiing. Shower was good with instant hot water. If I was to complain about anything it would have been the WiFi but even that wasn’t too bad."
Casa San Francesco
"This 'Casa Per Ferie' is perfectly situated about 900m from the railway station and 400m from the Campo Smith ski lift along a flat, straight pavemented, easily-walkable road - though the free buses 1,2,3,4 and 7 also all go by and there's a bus-stop right beside it. (You can also walk up viale San Francesco to Bardonecchia's main shopping street in about 850m.) It's a former Franciscan monastery, with parking and lots of ground out the back, and rooms with communal terraces looking out at the mountain. There are some religious sculptures (a nice one of St Francis with a sheep, for instance), but otherwise it's plainly decorated. The clean and well-organised rooms have good wifi and all other mod cons (except a TV, but I was OK about that) and plenty of hooks. The ski locker is right by the front door rather than (as often) in a cellar. We had half-board for our six-night stay and they coped very well with us being pescatarian. Bottled water and wine is payable extra but extremely cheap compared with most places. But it's the staff who really make the place special: they were kind and friendly and helpful beyond the normal 'good service' of a hotel; we were quite overawed by their hospitality, and their generosity. Downsides? Breakfast has lots of cakes, beware! That's all I can think of!"
Hotel Europa
"Great hotel about 7 minutes from the slopes. Breakfast included and family rooms (queen bed with connected room with mini fridge and desk and twin bed. Convenient separate toilet and shower for families. Would definitely return. Nice sound proof windows and wonderful very hot shower. Impeccable. Run by a lovely family. Excellent breakfast included in the mornings. Includes home made pastries and fresh cold cuts."
Residence Tabor
"Just returned from a last minute ski weekend in Bardonecchia staying at the Residence Tabor. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay room was clean modern and spacious. Everything we needed was provided. Location is perfect a 1 minute walk from the station and the supermarket and restaurant both next door were very convenient. We were greeted at reception with a warm welcome and taken to our rooms a nice touch rather than just being given directions. Would definitely return"
Residence Villa Linda
"The house was beautiful, situated in a great location, impeccably clean, and wonderfully cozy. The team was professional and courteous, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. They even accompanied us to the house by car, which was a thoughtful gesture. Overall, it was a truly pleasant and enjoyable stay."
Villaggio Olimpico
"Just got back from a school ski trip with 40 students from the UK. Overall we did not enjoy our experience as we didn’t get much rest due to the hotel being full of a mixture of young children and teenage children who run round the hotel until early hours of the morning running on corridors, banging doors, chanting, screaming and shouting. You do not get a minutes peace from the moment you wake up until the moment you are able to go to sleep at night. It is absolute chaos in every single corridor and place you go as the hotel caters for nearly 1000 people who are mainly teenagers who don’t seem to have any respect for anybody. The hotel is mainly full of Italian school groups and families who don’t seem to have any control over their children and like to party at the disco until midnight. The disco music is so loud that it can be heard from the second floor in other blocks of the building. When I complained about this to reception to tell them we are on a school ski trip and not a partying holiday I was told well the Italians like to party until early hours. I would not advise this hotel at all if you would like to get some rest and enjoy some downtime during the evening after skiing/exploring. If this hotel is to improve it needs separate blocks for people who want to rest and escape the noise and chaos of the rest of the hotel. I would not return to this hotel even if somebody paid me! Luckily we enjoyed the skiing during the day but not the hotel during the evenings!!!! School groups from the UK - get your ski companies to change the hotel . This came close to ruining our trip!!!! Few positives: Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Warm rooms with comfortable beds. Rooms cleaned daily and clean towels. Hot, powerful showers. Staff friendly and pleasant. Hotel short walk from slopes and village in opposite direction. Some food options tasty Negatives which far outweighs the positives in my opinion: Hotel looks tired and run down on arrival from outside. Corridors are long and interlinked so children not even in your block can enter corridors and cause carnage. Locker room which is owned by the hotel up by the slopes is chaotic and overcrowded during peak times of the day. You cannot move and often get hit by people’s skis and poles as they turn around. Some kind of one way system needs to be implemented as this is an accident waiting to happen. Pasta everyday which got boring and repetitive. Very loud music played until midnight every evening. Very noisy until early hours of morning - you need very good ear plugs if you want any rest. Rude and obnoxious Italian guests who have no control over their children. Bar - drinks and snacks overpriced."
