Serrania del Viento ★★

"We stayed at Serrania del Viento for 8 days and absolutely loved it! Each of the little houses are so unique, private, and very quiet. We'd wake up early every morning and birdwatch from our private porch before walking into breakfast with the most beautiful view. All the food was wonderful and everyone that worked at Serrania del Viento went out of their way to make sure we had a great time, which included helping us arrange a birdwatching tour and making sure we knew about all the best hiking spots and restaurants around Barichara. Serrania del Viento is family-owned by a wonderfully kind family who made us feel at home. We didn't have a car but had no issue walking into Barichara (but it's easy to get a very reasonably priced taxi too). Truly a special place which is not to be missed!"

"Travel to this hotel with my family! We are Mexicans and we were in that hotel, we asked for a fan and one came from the hotel in the night and asked for the fan to return because they needed it for another room (how is it possible they didn't have enough) We told you that it was not very friendly and we were preparing to sleep, about 10 minutes later they touched us again and asked us to leave the hotel. The hotel people were very angry! My dad asked us to grab our bags! And that's what we did, then we left the room and there were people who seemed to be the family owner of the hotel in the halls some with beers in the hand! We started to cry “go back to Mexico” and crying out of gross, we dropped down the stairs and people started to lock us in a circle, we went up in the car as my father was going to pay a night at reception while the owner crying out of gross. My mother, my sister and I went up to the truck, and a few seconds later my dad! She was throwing back and there was a lamp on the floor, she didn't see it and knocked it and there was when the people around us while undergoing us in bad words and wrath began to spark the truck, my sister began to cry! We could escape from this that was the hotel of our lives! Before booking, think about it twice, there are better hotels in the area."
