Grand Hotel Slavia ★★★★

"Fabulous hotel in the very pretty Baska Voda. Hotel is right on the front with views of the harbour and sea. Such an excellent location, can walk left out of the hotel to Makarska, such a beautiful walk along the pathways on the seafront and to Brela and beyond on the right. Perfect location! We had a standard room ( only rooms left) but our room like the rest of the hotel was exceptionally clean, of a really good size, great shower ( always very hot water) and plenty of storage. The room had a fridge, hairdryer, kettle for coffee/tea ( replenished daily) along with a coffee pod machine providing 2 pods thereafter I think you had to purchase them. Not a problem for us as I always take my own tea and coffee. Housekeeping did an excellent job daily. The bed and pillows were the most comfiest we have had anywhere we have travelled, just divine! Breakfast provided an excellent selection of hot/cold foods, everything you could wish for with some lovely breads. We booked half board, the choices and cooking were better some nights than others but we always found something to eat. Plenty of restaurants on the doorstep to choose from if you wish to eat out. A bottle of wine, cocktails and all drinks were very reasonably priced in fact we didn’t drink anywhere else every evening. Big shout out to all the fabulous staff who served us at breakfast and dinner especially Kristina in the restaurant and Ivan who made the most excellent cocktails! All staff throughout the hotel were very welcoming, very friendly and we couldn’t have received better service. This was our very first visit to Croatia and I was rather anxious about my choice as friends were travelling with us. Absolutely no need, we loved this hotel, loved Baska Voda and we will definitely be returning to this wonderful hotel. Thank You all at Grand Hotel Slavia, for a fabulous stay!"

Hotel Horizont ★★★★

"Nice hotel but lots of children. Pool area quite small for amount of people and not enough sun beds so went to the beach instead of using pool. Location is very good, close to beach, restaurants and harbour. Nice walks rould the coastal path. Rooms are quite spacious with a small fridge, not other facilities and the hairdryer was rubbish. Shower above the bath very high so not good for short legs to climb in and out. Staff ok but not all staff friendly."

Hotel Villa Bacchus ★★★★

"This was our third stay at the hotel. The first time in 2019 was excellent – clean, fresh-smelling room with windows facing the street and tennis courts. During our second stay in 2022, we were given a room on the opposite side of the building and had problems with unpleasant smells of burnt oil coming into the room. This year, we were again placed on the same side. Knowing the issue, we asked the hotel staff to change the room, but unfortunately, our request was not granted. Another big disappointment was the unexpected parking fee. The TUI offer clearly stated a free parking space and mentioned a fee only for the garage (approx. €7/day). To our surprise, upon checkout we were charged €90 for parking outside the hotel building. We had to prove that our reservation made through TUI said nothing about any extra fee for outdoor parking. Staff claimed the fee was introduced recently. ⚠️ I advise future guests to double-check all offer details before booking. The holiday itself was great, but the final day and the checkout left a bitter taste due to what felt like an attempt to charge us unfairly."

House Topic ★★★

"I rented my room in House Topic for a week in September and I absolutely loved it. It was a beautiful apartment, everything was spotlessly clean. The room was very well furnished and the kitchen had more than everything you would ever need (with great appliances which were all also spotlessly clean), as was the bathroom which also had a small sized washing machine and a hairdryer. Everything was just as described in the listing. The owner was lovely and very friendly and more than helpful. She greeted me on arrival and called her daughter Mia who spoke with me on her mum's phone to help with translation and said I could phone her anytime for any information I may need. There was a little selection of English books on the landing outside the room considerately put there, as well as maps and taxi numbers and area information. The balcony was a good size (overlooking the sea) with table (easily big enough for 4-6 people), chairs and a sun lounger. I also spotted spare umbrellas to use in case of rain. There was also an ironing board and iron on the landing for use if needed. I can't praise House Topic and the lovely family enough. I would really love to return here but, sadly, looks very booked up already for next year, however I shall keep looking."
