Hotels in Huairou District, Beijing

The customer service lady was quite nice, but I do have some issues with the guesthouse: 1. Check-in time was 2 PM, but when we arrived, the room wasn't ready yet. We had to wait another half an hour for them to finish cleaning. 2. The pillows on the bed were too flat, and the bed itself was too soft, making it uncomfortable. 3. And this is the most important point: there's no need to stay overnight in this Chestnut Village. It's tiny, and even the 'mini waterfall stream' is artificial 😂. You can finish exploring and taking pictures in just an afternoon. Also, food is very expensive here; an ice cream costs 68. Although the restaurant is a bit pricey, the food itself is actually quite good. 4. There are a lot of people with dogs, and they tend to pee all over the restaurant. There's really no point in bringing kids here, as there are practically no facilities for children.

A truly great vacation isn't about an abundance of facilities, excessive service, or a high-brow experience. It's about that genuine sense of relaxation it gives you. During our two days at The Brickyard, we saw so many smiling faces. Everyone was happy, whether they were staying, dining, or just hanging out. You see glazed tile elements everywhere, and the design language in every corner, from the tile kilns, chimneys, and caves, to the flooring decorated with shattered glazed tiles. The former glazed tile factory has been reborn. There's no TV here, and while there's a gym, hot springs, spa, and nail salon, the facilities themselves fade into the background. Check-in, afternoon tea, breakfast, dinner, the rooms, the transportation – everything was perfect, just like coming home. It’s only 1 kilometer from Mutianyu Great Wall, and the hotel provided a private car transfer and even gifted us tickets. In the evenings there’s a bonfire, and in the afternoons, handicraft activities – absolutely no dull moments. The hotel is located in Bohai Town, nestled in a small mountain valley, with an abundance of negative oxygen ions and far from the noise of the 'Sleepless Valley.' All you hear are birds chirping, and you see the distant Great Wall and chestnut trees everywhere. Oh, and laughter, of course. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back! We are old because we are good, We are good because we are old!

Taking advantage of the Gaokao holiday, I brought my beloved daughter to the Mutianyu Great Wall, and I was absolutely delighted with our choice of accommodation. The front desk lady assigned us a room that we both loved; she was incredibly thoughtful, so a big thumbs-up and a huge thank you to her! The hotel is directly across from Binhe Park, and after dinner, my daughter and I enjoyed a pleasant 2.7km stroll. The breakfast, while not extensive, was exquisite, especially the beef noodles – I was very impressed. Many thanks to every dedicated staff member. We will definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Huairou. Wishing the hotel great prosperity and continued success!

The hotel has a nice concept or safari theme but somewhat under delivered. The pictures were nice but I think these are old pictures as it definitely needs upkeep or we think due for renovation and cleanliness of the surrounding needs more manpower. Pool is questionable and not inviting. Plus side: Very close to the great wall you can literally walk about 1km away to the gate. And the nearby grocery is a cheap way to buy local gifts to bring home. However you are far from the main Beijing City as in more than 1 hour by taxi and 2 hours if you get caught in the rush hour of beijing cost which cost about US$20 one way. The room is clean, big and decent for the price but really needs repair and I really question the security of the door as it was no secondary lock. The hot water is plenty, aircon is nice, internet is ok, soap is great. Service: They are family run I think 3 or 4 people, they try to accommodate but unlike other hotels in China, they don't try to utilize tech to translate. I understand they are kinda old. They don't automatically make up the room even though we stayed for 3 nights. so our garbage filed up. But we are ok with it. They were waiting even though we arrived at 2am which we appreciated. And the iced coffee is nice. Bad: Food maybe it is not our preferred taste. It is definitely not a buffet and we only eat once. You have alternative restaurants across the street or in the Great Wall commercial area but it is expensive. So will we recommend it, maybe. Yes, if you want a quiet place to unwind and want to explore the great wall for more than a day. no, if you want to explore beijing, it is far from the city and conscious of cleanliness and upkeep.

This is amazing place everything just only walking distance, coffee shop, restaurant less than 10 minutes walk to get there also highly recommend breakfast from the hotel you will enjoy Chinese style very impressive and Great Wall of China just about 10 minutes walk to get there and you can enjoy cable car to see the view from the top highly recommended and if you don’t speak Chinese don’t worry the hotel owner can speak English or otherwise translation is available there 😊👍

I came to Mutianyu Great Wall for a night tour and wanted to get an early start the next day without being too tired, so I chose to stay here for a night. The service was pretty standard, nothing special. The front desk upgraded my room when I checked in, which I appreciate. The hotel's overall environment is really good, and the location is definitely a major plus – the cable car is right opposite, and the chairlift is just a little further up. However, the room's cleanliness and facilities were quite average. I didn't have high expectations for a hotel in a scenic area anyway. The duvet was a bit damp, and there were many dead insects. In the other room we booked, there was a loud sound like an animal running on the roof throughout the entire night. All in all, if you want a night tour and an easy early start the next day, this is a good option. The hotel restaurant's food was also pretty decent.

Huaiyuan is a Chinese courtyard with a new Chinese style. It is very spacious. Three bedrooms can accommodate six people. It is fully equipped with tatami, Chinese-style beds, tea rooms, kitchens, projectors, mahjong machines and other entertainment facilities. The bedding is very comfortable. It is surrounded by mountains and water, with fresh air and beautiful scenery. In the evening, you can have a barbecue in the yard, chat, blow the wind, smell the peony flowers🌸, and look at the starry sky at night🌃. It is very suitable for family or friends to gather, and you can bring your pets🐕. Be sure to check in at Cross Cafe. The ancient courtyard and the 300-year-old locust tree are very suitable for a daze for an afternoon. The surrounding Yaoziyu Castle, Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall, and Baiyun Taoist Temple are very suitable for hiking.

This is a newly opened B&B, and the environment is lovely and very clean. The bedding is comfortable, and the service is excellent. Definitely recommend it!

I came across W Courtyard B&B by chance and was attracted by the lake view on its balcony. My husband and I stayed here for two days and it was a very good experience. You can spend a day or two here lazing around, drinking tea, reading, practicing yoga, writing, walking, and living a slow life. The village is small and quiet. The B&B is by the lake, facing the best lake view. It has a two-story sun terrace, which is perfect for daydreaming. The room was clean and had high-end amenities, but I'd rather sit outside 😄. In addition, the chef’s cooking is delicious. I decided to lose weight after staying here for two days.

The small courtyard of the homestay is very modern, well-equipped and attentive. The rooms are spacious, bright and comfortable. You can walk out of the homestay and see the environment in the village. It is urgent to improve. In addition to the beautiful archway at the entrance of the village, the roads in the village are old, and the house buildings are all in their own right. I can't see the style of the original village, and I lack the atmosphere of a modern new countryside. The streets in the village are still relatively clean, and it can be seen that health management has tried its best.
