Location is a prime spot for exploring Beijing. The room was great and clean. The girls at reception were lovely and accommodated an early check in for me. Only cons: the room was so hot and even when I adjusted the thermostat it didn't work.

Good room and staffs are helpful.
Any queries and questions will be answered clearly.
However, it will be great if the family room has a table and more chairs as family with young children usually need it. It will be hard if we order food delivery.
Location wise, so far so good. At first we were not able to find the lobby when we went into the mall as we need to transfer lift to 6th floor and turning into another lift somewhere else back to first floor. But it was okay once able to find it for the first time. Need to take note of it.
Overall, it is a great stay. Thank you 🙏

Good location with easy access to the metro station. The street of the hotel is quiet narrow, which makes it difficult for a car to pass through. Keep this in mind when you arrange a Didi.
The room had a beautiful sky-lighting giving the impression that you are sleeping under the stars. Bed was very comfortable and the shower had good pressure.
Eating options at the hotel are limited, but there is a vending machine with decent coffee and there are plenty of restaurants in the area with local food.
The staff was very helpful and understanding.

This is a beautiful small hotel located in the hutongs, in really calm street, and maybe 10 min walking from a busy neighborhood with shops, restaurants and nightlife. The shadow theater theme is really well done with piece of art everywhere, and the regular show complete the experience.
Tom was really helpful with our luggages, and the staff was nice and understanding overall.
Hightly recommended!
I loved staying in a courtyard hotel. It felt like I traveled back in time! 😊 Check-in / out was fast and the room was always clean during my stay. The staff even upgraded my room.It is near Guloudajie Station and a bus stop. There is a lot of good restaurants near the place.
If you are a light sleeper, the lack of soundproofing might be a concern for you. I wasn't able to sleep well for the first 2 nights because of the noisy guests (loud conversations + children shouting in the next room). This is not the hotel's fault and this would not stop me from booking this hotel again in my next trip to Beijing.

The biggest surprise about the hotel I chose this time was its location – within walking distance to the Temple of Heaven. In the mornings, I didn't have to rush during peak hours; I could leisurely head out and explore the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. It saved me the trouble of finding parking and squeezing onto the subway, which is incredibly convenient for tourists.
The service was absolutely outstanding; the staff were enthusiastic and patient throughout, with no hint of perfunctoriness. They even offered congee in the evenings, which was a thoughtful touch!
Overall, the experience far exceeded my expectations. This hotel will definitely be my first choice next time I visit Beijing!

The hotel was not so welcoming to me as a non chinese speaker. The receptiondesk and restaurant did not even greet me and only spoke to my chinese friend. The restaurant food was not so fresh and the sausage was undercooked. Granted, they replaced this with two new ones. It is not as good as other Ritz Hotels i have stayed at in the past. Tianjin is much better. I would like to see this hotel upgraded to be in line with other excellent Ritz hotels across China.

On a weekday business trip, I was pleasantly upgraded to a suite. Despite my late-night arrival, the front desk staff were incredibly efficient and welcoming. The suite's facilities made it easy to prepare simple meals, which was very convenient. Useful local information was conveniently displayed on the TV screen. The room was impeccably clean. The comfortable bed and excellent soundproofing ensured a very peaceful stay, perfect for those who value quiet.

I'm rating this as a 'five star' experience. What was lacking was any sense of 'above and beyond' - it felt like the staff had very limited discretionary decision making. We stayed with our 20 month old toddler and on two different occasions he was given a soft panda toy so I guess that's the only leeway the staff had!
It all felt very 'nickle and dime' and expensive. To use the pool they charged us for bathing caps that their rules require - £3 for a men's and £5 for a baby one. Then they were weird about whether the baby was a boy or a girl - 'if he's a boy he has to get changed in the men's locker room'. Insane.
The room wasn't totally clean when we arrived - signs of snacks under the table, a disgusting bloody snot smear on the furniture!
The breakfast buffet was fine - although as somebody who eats fruit for breakfast it quickly got repetitive. The coffee was from a machine and not very good. The first day we turned up around 9:45 thinking we had time, since the brochure in the bedroom said the buffet went until 10:30, but then they started pressuring us to leave as 10am approached, saying they'd changed the time (which we thought should have been 11am really!).
They were stingy with the coffee capsules in the room (you get four, two of which are decaf) so we weren't really being helped to wake up. Since we'd flown from Edinburgh, it took us a while to get onto a normal schedule, and I couldn't run the incredibly loud machine with the baby asleep, but my only other choice of hotel coffee was paying £7-£10 per cup for some nonsense downstairs. The nearby Starbucks was undrinkable and charged Western prices, so it was a walk to find anything drinkable. The restaurants were prohibitively expensive and they were solicited us when we came through the doors.
Laundry was £3 per pair of pants, so we just hand-washed ours and the baby's clothes (I bought new underwear rather than pay for laundry).
I should have realised it was more of a Hilton-style hotel chain than a nice Chinese hotel. I guess the idea is familiarity for Western business travellers more than a great Chinese hotel experience.

Arrived around 7:20 PM, and the front desk staff promptly informed me about the 8 PM live guzheng performance in the courtyard, how to book tickets for the Tiananmen flag-raising ceremony, and provided detailed information on transportation—it was all very comprehensive. The hotel is a renovated old building, so there's no elevator, but the gentleman at the front desk was very kind and directly helped me carry my large luggage to room 306.
Because my National Museum schedule wasn't finalized, I wanted to extend my stay for July 11th, but the hotel was fully booked. After returning from the Forbidden City, Ms. Chang and her colleague at the front desk helped me find a nearby 'All Seasons Hotel' Qianmen branch and arranged for my luggage to be delivered there. I'm very grateful for the enthusiastic service from all the staff at Mercure Qianmen. Every ordinary role contributes to a city's identity, and Beijing's image is truly excellent! 👍

AAnonymous UserI absolutely love this place and will definitely stay here again next time! It's a traditional Chinese-style hidden gem tucked away in Xisi! Choosing this courtyard hotel was the best decision I made during my Beijing trip! It's just around the corner from Xisi subway station, and a taxi ride to Nanluoguxiang and Shichahai takes only about ten minutes – the convenient transportation is truly amazing. Stepping into the hotel feels like traveling back in time to an ancient courtyard, with gray bricks paving the ground and a strong traditional Chinese charm. The courtyard is incredibly quiet, completely shielding you from the bustling street, making it the perfect escape for a peaceful moment. You can tell the bedding is high quality just by touching it; it's clean, odorless, and perfectly soft. The fatigue from my journey was instantly soothed. The value for money is absolutely incredible!

KKuailedeJBusiness travel, close to Beijing Exhibition Center and Zoo, close to the subway station Chegongzhuang West Station. More convenient, the service is not bad, there is a late night, breakfast is the aunt who makes fried noodles, it is also very nice, and will come back later.

EEva-qiqiI've been to Beijing countless times, but this trip was a hurried one, accompanying my mom on some errands, so we only stayed one night. Despite the short stay, our itinerary was packed and incredibly fun! We explored places I hadn't really visited before.
Here's a breakdown of the spots I think are worth checking out:
Our official sightseeing kicked off on the first afternoon. We stayed at the Beijing Qianmen Shan Hotel, near Qianmen. The experience was fantastic! There's a coffee shop downstairs, and they even provided fresh fruit in the room. When we checked out, they printed a photo of mine and gave me a small gift. Plus, it's super close to Yangmeizhu Xiejie, which we wanted to visit – just a two-minute walk! The whole hutong is a delight, filled with all sorts of unique shops; you could easily spend a couple of hours browsing.
The rest of our first day was dedicated to food. We tried Nanmen Shuanrou (hotpot) and Hutong Ludzhu (stewed offal). Later that evening, while at Shichahai, we stumbled upon Majiang Brown Sugar Pancakes, which usually have super long queues!
Overall, I found the food we tried to be quite distinctive and delicious!
On the second day, with only half a day available, my mom and I woke up early and went to中山 Park, a place we hadn't visited before. This park doesn't seem to be a particularly popular attraction. We arrived around 8 AM, and there were very few people! A unique highlight there is the winter vegetable baozi (steamed bun) in the teahouse – apparently, it's the same kind Lu Xun enjoyed. It has a rich texture, and I'd recommend trying it if you haven't!
That pretty much sums up our two-day trip. On our way back, I also bought two big bags of Honghua Dim Sum Bureau pastries for friends. Their ox-tongue pastry, butterfly pastry, and cream bread were all excellent! They offer a more innovative twist than the traditional Daoxiangcun.

GGuest UserThey managed to gv us a room at last minute but there was no window. As we checked in very late, we did not request for a change. After checking in for 2 hrs the room temperature shot up to 27 degrees and the thermostat does not work at all. Aircon was noisy also.

MM17232****It was fantastic to book this room during peak season. While the hotel's interior is small, it's very new, with smart features and convenient amenities. The bedding is comfortable, easily slept two people on the 1.2-meter bed. The sanitation was spotless, without the hygiene issues I've encountered at other similarly priced hotels. There's a convenient balcony on the third floor for hanging clothes! Located in a hutong near Qianmen Street, right next to Liulichang, the hotel offers several artistic alleyways, making it convenient for shopping and dining. It's also very close to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the National Museum, making it easy to bike in and out every day. This hotel brought back wonderful memories from my trip to Beijing!

SsjehThe room is small but very clean, and the shower pressure was excellent. It's located about 1-1.5 km from the nearest metro station, with convenient access by bike or scooter. Attractions like the Temple of Heaven, Taoranting Park, and the Ancient Architecture Museum are also within easy reach. The price is very reasonable, making it an excellent choice for solo travelers.

MM267806****Located 700 meters from Zhushikou subway station, it's very close to Dashilar and Qianmen. The room was small but clean, not greasy at all, though the soundproofing wasn't great – but that's typical for hotels in this area. We stayed for 4 nights with our child, and for the price, it offered excellent value for money.

KKugaiweidenanshenI was probably not satisfied with the room. I booked a window in the aisle or corridor, but after searching for a long time, I still couldn't figure out where the window was. I felt that the merchant was dishonest, so I just said there was no window, which made me feel more balanced. After making a hole in the roof, I finally found the window. But what’s the use of such a window? Moreover, I booked for 6 days in a row. When I checked in on the first day, I found that the bathroom had no door. I asked to change rooms, but they refused. It took me a long time to persuade them to agree to change. It felt really bad. Moreover, after staying for 6 days, the bed sheets were not changed proactively. This kind of service is a bit disappointing.
