Fantastic hotel overall! The location is easy to find, and the environment is clean. The service was warm and attentive, making my stay very comfortable. It's great value for money, and I'll definitely be back. My stay exceeded expectations; the atmosphere was elegant and peaceful. The room layout was well-designed, clean, and odor-free. The bedding was soft and comfortable for a good night's sleep. The attention to detail in the service was excellent, making for a truly relaxing and pleasant stay.

I've been to Gubei Water Town a few times, and each time, I've stayed at the Gubei Light Hotel. There were years in between my visits, and it wasn't that I deliberately chose this hotel; it just consistently came out on top when I compared all the options. This time, the service was even better! Manager Zhao Benlin provided attentive service throughout, from confirming my reservation after booking to communicating during my stay – everything was comprehensive. They even accommodated our small requests, from the welcome fruit upon arrival to a send-off when we left, which made us feel very comfortable. A big thumbs up to Manager Zhao! Next time I go, I won't even bother looking at other options; I'll just contact Manager Zhao directly! 👍

Staying at Hanting was fantastic! The room was clean with no strange odors, and the facilities were new and complete. The location is super convenient, and the front desk service was warm and efficient. It offers excellent value for money and is definitely my top choice for business trips or vacations!

This hostel is without a doubt the very best place to stay if you want to spend some time close to the Great Wall (and you should take time for this amazing structure)! The lovely owners Jack and Xi will do anything to make your stay as pleasant as possible: rhe rooms are great and fresh, clean. Built only three years ago but in a traditional style, with a little courtyard? It has a lovely roof terrace too. They drive you up and down the entrance of the Great Wall whenever you want to go, even for sunrise and sunset. Jack knows everybody so all will go fast and smooth. Xi is always smiling and very helpful. She makes the most amazing and delicious home cooked chinese meals and great coffee. Go there!! You won’t regret it! It’s great and close to the most beautiful parts of the wall!

Staying at Yudao Shanju Private Tang Homestay was truly like coming home. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and perfectly captures the essence of a genuine Chinese homestay. What made our experience outstanding was the incredibly kind and attentive hostess. She was always available, responded promptly to every message, and willingly accommodated all of our wishes without hesitation. Her hospitality went far beyond what we expected, making us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. From the comfortable rooms to the thoughtful details throughout the property, everything reflected care and authenticity. Whether you’re visiting Gubeikou for hiking the Great Wall or exploring the region, this homestay is the perfect base. I stayed at this hotel while visiting Gubei Water Town, and I had a wonderful experience. My room was on the 7th floor, and the view was absolutely incredible. From the window, I could see the entire water town and even the beautiful Great Wall of China. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. At night, the view became even more magical as the lights of Gubei Water Town and the Great Wall lit up the mountains. It felt like something out of a dream. If you're planning to visit Gubei Water Town, I highly recommend staying here. The location, cleanliness, and breathtaking view made my trip even more special. ❤️✨🏮

The Inn is run by a lovely, friendly young couple. Very helpful and enthusiastic in their service. The Inn is located at the end of the water town, practically next to the Simatai great wall cable car entrance and very near to one of the hotel hot springs. 1.The price of the Inn included entrance tickets into the water town (apparently you have to pay separately for entrance into the water town if your hotel is outside the town or if your hotel package doesn't include the entrance fee). 2. Also included are entrance tickets to the Simatai great wall but not the cable car. You need to pay separately for cable car up/down the wall. Single cable car ticket 130rmb. Return cable car ticket 200rmb. 3. Discount entrance ticket to the Simatai great wall at night. Normal price 220rmb. Discount price 120rmb. 4. Free shuttle bus ride within the water town. Very useful when you have luggage to carry or just want to go back/forth around town. 5. Traditional Chinese breakfast every morning 7.30 - 9.30am 6. Two free entrance tickets to use the hot springs. I really enjoyed my stay here. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Gubei is a beautiful water town, well worth a visit. Very comfortable, good soundproofing, and the laundry facilities are super convenient. As soon as I arrived at the 9th-floor reception, I was instantly hit with that holiday vibe. I compared it to other hotels in the area, and the decor here is definitely my favorite – it's quite unique. The breakfast was delicious too! 😋 I'll definitely be back next time, highly recommended!

Came here again and it was just as amazing as before! The owner is incredibly welcoming and even called me beforehand to pick me up from the parking lot. The room's facilities and amenities were clean and tidy; you can tell the owner put a lot of thought into it. It's in a villa area just a stone's throw from the scenic spot entrance, and the amenities are even better now than they used to be. Huge thanks to the owner for the warm hospitality, I'll definitely be staying here again next time and will recommend it to any friends who are looking for a place to stay!

My stay here far exceeded expectations, definitely a five-star review! The room was incredibly well-equipped and smart, with soft, comfortable bedding. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation and even a smart toilet – great attention to detail. It was spotlessly clean, showing how much effort the owner puts in. From the large window, you get a beautiful, layered view of the Water Town. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Water Town entrance, and super convenient for visiting the Simatai Great Wall. At night, you can even see the Great Wall lit up, which is absolutely stunning. The owner's service was exceptional; they contacted me beforehand to share a guide, offered pick-up and drop-off, helped with luggage, and their food recommendations were spot on. All in all, whether it was the accommodation itself or exploring the surroundings, the experience was perfect. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit. I just forgot to take photos of the room, but rest assured, you won't be disappointed.
