Intercontinental Hotel & Resorts Hotels in Beijing

I usually stay in suites when I'm in hotels, as the service tends to be better. However, I was absolutely astonished by the service attitude at the InterContinental Sanlitun. My room was west-facing, and the air conditioning system was broken – it wasn't cooling at all. When I called the front desk, their response was, 'Could you please just close the blackout curtains?' I honestly had to laugh, it was so ridiculous. But I figured I was already there, so no point in letting it ruin my mood. I didn't say anything more. Both afternoons I spent in the room, I was literally sweating. And the breakfast ingredients at the executive lounge weren't fresh. I really don't understand what kind of service justifies a 5000+ RMB room rate. Even the bed linen comfort was just average. Honestly, the Bulgari is only a ten-minute walk away. Staying at the InterContinental after a month at the Bulgari was truly a mistake! It just goes to show, you really can't downgrade your experience.

The hotel is right next to the Bird's Nest, which was super convenient for the concert – I could just walk there. Even with the rain, Kamine thoughtfully reminded us to bring raincoats, and she was always patient and helpful with my many requests. The hotel gym and heated pool are great facilities, and the nearby subway makes getting around easy. It's truly comfortable for an extended stay. I'll definitely book here again next time I'm in Beijing.
