Huobumingbai58I frequently stay at this hotel, but this time was a huge disappointment. The front desk staff who checked me in made the whole experience very unpleasant. First, parking costs money, up to 80 yuan. Second, they still require a deposit – seriously, who still does that these days? Third, you have to go down to pick up your own food deliveries. Fourth, there wasn't enough hot water. And finally, the soundproofing is terrible; you can clearly hear conversations from the next room.

Live the Century-Old Legend on Chang'an Avenue | Nüo Hotel Beijing Review ✨
If you're visiting Beijing and want to combine a superb location with a sense of history, you absolutely must try Nüo Hotel Beijing. It's not just a hotel; it's like a century-old museum you can actually stay in. Established in 1917, it was once a famous luxury hotel in the Far East, hosting countless celebrities and dignitaries. Every brick and tile whispers tales of a century of change in the capital. 🏛️
📍Location | The Heart of the Capital, Prime for Families
Number 33 East Chang'an Avenue, an unbeatable location:
▪️ A ten-minute walk to Tiananmen Square, Donghua Gate, and the Forbidden City.
▪️ Right downstairs is Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, perfect for evening strolls.
▪️ Very close to Wangfujing Station on Subway Line 1, making commutes to major attractions easy.
Planning to wake up early for the flag-raising ceremony? Staying here saves you a long commute, making it especially friendly for families with children.
🏛️Ambiance | French Retro Meets Oriental Heritage
Push open the heavy, century-old revolving door and be instantly awed by the lobby. The high domed ceiling, giant crystal chandeliers, and vintage marble spiral staircase create an incredible atmosphere. The hotel corridors display numerous historical photos, silently recounting past eras. The Writer's Bar on the first floor is incredibly stylish, with a retro dance floor exuding a Republic of China flair – perfect for capturing stunning photos.
🛏️Room Experience | Vintage Style, Modern Comfort
I stayed in a Heritage Room, which was spacious and airy. The design blends French classical with Neo-Chinese aesthetics, featuring warm, textured solid wood furniture and a charmingly retro rotary dial telephone. The high-floor Chang'an Avenue view rooms offer an exceptional vista, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly overlooking Chang'an Avenue. By day, you can gaze at the city skyline; by night, enjoy the glittering lights of the ten-mile Chang'an street. The bedding is soft and skin-friendly, and the soundproofing is excellent, providing a quiet retreat despite being in the bustling city center. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, with a complete set of toiletries and thoughtful amenities.
🍽️Dining | East Meets West, Authentic Beijing Flavors
The breakfast buffet offers a rich selection, balancing Western dishes with old Beijing specialties. Freshly made Zhajiangmian (fried sauce noodles), doufunao (tofu pudding), and tanghuoshao (sweet sesame bread) are all available, allowing you to savor local flavors without leaving the hotel. The window seats provide a comfortable setting to slowly start your day of travel.
💡Honest Thoughts on My Stay
Unlike the ubiquitous new-age 'influencer' hotels, Nüo's unique historical depth is hard to replicate. It offers a perfect blend of convenient transportation, cultural ambiance, and five-star service. Whether it's for a family educational trip or a business journey, it's a top-quality accommodation choice in Beijing. Stroll down Chang'an Avenue at night, head to Tiananmen Square in the morning – easily connecting all the classic Beijing experiences.
📌Practical Tips
▫️ For the best views, book a high-floor Chang'an Avenue room.
▫️ The hotel's spiral staircase, lobby, and Writer's Bar are all fantastic photo spots.
▫️ If planning to see the flag-raising ceremony, plan your departure time in advance to allow for security checks and travel.
