"Cormiston Farm is just an amazing place in every way and will forever be a special place to us. We cannot recommend enough. We celebrated our wedding there April 2024 and not only it is a beautiful place with stunning views, but also Richard and his family are such great, kind and friendly people who were extremely helpful and made our stay and special day not only amazing but as easy as possible and as we envisioned it. It is also an environmentally friendly wedding venue and accommodation! We stayed at the house / B&B which is a beautiful Georgian/Victorian house with everything you need and also views to the beautiful farm grounds. The barn was just perfect for our reception. Everyone loved the venue and every detail of Cormiston Farm (the compliments haven't stopped yet!) Thanks for everything! =)"

"We didn't arrive at the Hopetoun Arms under the best circumstances – our campervan had broken down and Andrew and I were tired, stressed and wondering what to do next. From the moment Rachel, Rabbie and Leah stepped in to help, we were treated with such kindness and generosity. They picked us up, offered to drive us back to the service station and genuinely cared about making a difficult situation easier for us. What was supposed to be an emergency overnight stop became one of the most memorable parts of our trip. The hotel is full of character, the views are spectacular, our room was comfortable and welcoming, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. To add to the adventure, the van broke down again the following day, despite supposedly being fixed! Looking back, what could have been a miserable experience was made so much better because of the warmth and hospitality we received here. Thank you, Rachel, Rabbie and Leah, for going above and beyond. We hope to return one day under much less stressful circumstances and actually enjoy the area properly. Naomi & Andrew"

Cornhill Castle

"We are quite local so not our first visit to Cornhill. it is a lovely venue. I even like the wallpaper. However, for a recent evening meal all was really quite good, but the rib-eye steak was poor and extremely chewy. I mentioned this and was told it would be passed on. I heard nothing which is ok because no response was promised. i tried to do a review but was out of date to use the scan image method given. I contacted Cornhill and was told they aim for a high standard with everything including their beef rib-eye and were sorry about this particular steak. Again, there is nothing wrong about the response, but somehow, I wonder if the Cornhill could have done more? The steaks at the Albany in Biggar were great... We'll go there again next time!"
