"It would be very comfortable if you can speak Chinese, Thai, or Lao. The soundproofing of the rooms is not perfect, so perhaps that's why earplugs are included as amenities, which is a unique feature. It's clean and the service is satisfactory. It would have been perfect if the room had a refrigerator and a toilet-shower."
"The owner is enthusiastic, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the price is very reasonable. There are plenty of places to eat, drink, and play nearby, and you can walk to the Mohan border crossing or take a taxi to the Boten train station."
"There were two errors in the website description. I think they should fix this for future guests. One is that the hotel's location displayed on Google Maps is incorrect. The map took me to a vacant lot. I had a hard time finding the hotel. The other is that the check-out time is listed as 2 PM, but it's actually 1 PM. This is probably because the hotel primarily uses Chinese time."
"The rooms were good for the price, the only thing that angered me was that I told the service girl twice in the morning in Chinese ” no cleaning, very good”.
She replied ” thanks, no cleaning ” in Chinese.
When I returned in the evening, I found all my personal belongings were moved for cleaning.
I do not like people touching my personal belongings after they have handled garbage and cleaned the toilet."
"The hotel is spotless, and it just opened in April 2026. I'm very picky about hotels, and this one, being newly opened and renovated this year, met all my expectations. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the disposable amenities—whether it was the toothbrush, razor, or comb—were all of excellent quality, almost a shame they're single-use. Honestly, this is the most comfortable and value-for-money hotel I've ever stayed in, hands down. Plus, the front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic and helpful."
"The Chinese service is super good, just like the name of the hotel sounds friendly. When I step into a foreign country, their friendly feeling is like the warmth of home. The night is quiet and beautiful. Sitting on the balcony makes me feel comfortable and relaxes me. Especially the room is very clean. And there is no odor, good ventilation, towels and bath towels are very clean. The hotel does not require check-out or check-out, which saves time. I feel very at ease. The room is well equipped and has monitoring to help us manage it. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in in Boten! China-Laos Friendship Hotel, Southeast Asia Resort Hotel and Highly Recommended, Bangbangbang"
"Ok
Good location
But it's noisy at night.
There is also a mobile phone signal that will switch back and forth between Laos and Chinese cards.
WIFI is the best in the Moding Hotel"
"I was so grateful that the owner picked me up and dropped me off, and it was safe.
The elevator was also convenient, and the view from the room was great. There's a fruit shop and restaurant just a three-minute walk away, and a convenience store within a five-minute walk. I couldn't have a drink alone, but it's a great place to have a drink with friends or colleagues. Chinese, Chinese currency, and WeChat are all accepted. Also, places run by Chinese people are more reliable and cheaper. If I ever go to Laos by land again, I'll definitely stay here. The building is old, but the facilities are fine. The water runs well."
"The room is quite large and overall is OK, especially the wide view. You can see the street, vegetable market, tin houses, etc. downstairs at a glance! The internet speed is also good! There is also a car pick-up, which is good."
"After a two-week stay in Boten, this was the best hotel I stayed at. It was clean and hygienic, the room was spacious, and most importantly, the view was great. It was very quiet, and of the five or six hotels I stayed at in Boten, this was the most satisfying. The owner was very friendly and even personally picked me up from the station. I'm quite picky, so I always check the sheets and duvet covers in my room first. They were very clean, definitely changed after each guest. I was very satisfied. I was puzzled why such a hotel didn't have a high rating. Later, I asked the owner and learned that they don't ask for positive reviews like other hotels! This was the most satisfying hotel I stayed at in the past two weeks, and I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Boten."
