The Sundance cabin is a romantic, one bedroom, one bathroom get away is perfect for a couples who enjoy nature. Please be aware that google and other gps devices are sometimes incorrect. All roads are open to us now. Please follow our directions. This cabin has a front porch with rocking chairs and a hot tub that outdoors under the stars. There are lots of hiking trails for all levels of hikers. We have a beautiful waterfall that is a short and easy walk from the cabin. The trail system also hooks up with the Appalachian trail so the possibilities are endless. Fishing is available in the creek in front of the cabin or on the larger creeks in our area. The creeks are stocked yearly with trout. Stargazers will enjoy the uninterrupted beauty of the night sky. This cabin has a spectacular view of the moon rise. There are two labyrinths on the property for you to walk if you choose. We love sharing our 100 acres of paradise with you. Our land adjoins the national forest so the possibilities are really endless. We are located 13 miles from Hot Springs where there are quaint little shops, restaurants, an outfitters store and rafting company. We are about a 1 hour drive from Asheville, NC, home of the beautiful Biltmore mansion. There are many activities in our area including, river rafting, kayaking, zipling, hiking, horse back riding and gem mining. There is also local bluegrass music, wonderful drives that lead you on a quilt trail or a barn trail. Your cabin comes equipped with everything you need for you stay. We provide Wifi. We are sticklers about cleanliness and care for our cabins. It has fresh linens, cooking utensils, a kitchen, an outdoor grill, an outdoor fire pit with free firewood, Roku streaming tv, dvd, cd, music system, electric fire place. The hot tub is completely drained, cleaned and refilled with fresh spring water after each stay. For your convenience, we provide a self check in process. You may arrive anytime after 4 pm to enjoy your place in paradise. The hot tub will be warm, the lights on and the key available on the table. We live about 1/2 mile from the property, so if you need anything, you are welcome to give us a call. We believe in allowing our guests their privacy, so you will not be disturbed unless you need something. This cozy cabin is located in the Western NC mountains surrounded by Pisgah National Forest, just off the Appalachian trail near Lemon Gap and Max Patch. This makes it a great place to offer trail support if you happen to have a friend or family member who is hiking the trail. The cabin is also within a day excursion to the Smoky Mountain National Park. There is easy access to the French Broad River which offers a wide variety of river rafting, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The NC Arboretum, the Folk Life Center, the Blue Ridge Parkway are attractions that many of our guests enjoy. Cherokee and Maggie Valley are also within reasonable driving distance and offer great day excursions. Max Patch is a short drive from our cabin and offers a spectacular 360 degree view from the top. It is an easy to moderate hike from the parking lot to the top. Many of our guests visit there to watch the sun go down, or to take a day hike. The Appalachian Trail goes right across the ridge. If you are lucky enough to visit us around the time of the full moon, you can get a spectacular show from the top of Max Patch. If you go up on the day just before the moon is full, the sun will set just as the moon is rising. Standing on the top of the mountain during this time is a unique, spectacular experience. Wild flower enthusiasts will love exploring the woods surrounding the cabins. There are many beautiful and rare species of flowers blooming from early spring to late autumn. We have been fortunate enough to spot showy orchids, trillium, wild geranium, tiger lily, jack in the pulpit, lady slipper, lily of the valley just to name a few. Early spring also brings dogwood blossoms and wild azaleas in abundance. The Rhododendron are particularly spectacular in the summer months as they flourish along our creeks and cover the hillsides with pinks and whites. It seems that almost every day from April to late October, something new is blooming in these beautiful mountains. Bird lovers will be thrilled to find that we are a major migration route for many songbirds and butterflies. We have a huge population of hummingbirds. A very thrilling site is the indigo buntings who visit our area in the spring. They flash an incredible incandescent blue when they fly by. We have birds such as the nuthatches, towhees, cardinals, orioles, wrens, hawks and many others. We also have many goldfinches and purple finches. So, on your next vacation or romantic getaway, come to the mountains of Madison county, NC and discover what makes the Appalachian Mountains such a great place to relax and rejuvenate your spirit. A premium goosedown pillowtop, goosedown pillows, Belgian linens/high thread count sheets and a custom bedcrown offer our guests the ultimate mountain sleep experience. A bed fit for a poet! There is a JBL alarm clock bluetooth player with usb chargers and an additional wall heater for extra chilly nights. A freestanding closet, chest of drawers and luggage stand are provided with plenty of hangers and built-in shelving for your convenience. A mid-century writing tray can also serve the ultimate breakfast in bed. Our bedroom has been nicknamed Dreamland for good reason!The new kitchen features solid oak cabinetry and granite countertops, modern fixtures and amenities. It is fully stocked with all of the cooking utensils and necessities to cook your own meals and includes a Haier stainless convection oven range, french door refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, blender, coffee maker for both brew and pods, a french press, electric water kettle, toaster, pots/pans, dishes, glasses and silverware but heads up - No dishwasher. We do have a set of fine china and vintage linens to lend your holiday meals an elegant touch. Basic cooking essentials, oils, spices, coffee, tea, sugar, sweetener, pancake mix/syrup, popcorn, jam, condiments and napkins/paper towels are provided. And we always provide a pastry dome with fresh croissants or muffins and a freshly brewed pitcher of my mum’s famous sweet southern tea in the fridge for your arrival.Our french country dining room is a light filled cozy space that is open to the kitchen and filled with original art and charm. Hardwood floors throughout the house accommodate scrupulous cleanliness with new rugs, window treatments and all scent free sanitized fabrics. The back half of the house still has the original beadboard walls and ceilings that I adore and hope you will too!The small bathroom retains the original clawfoot tub and we have added a shower to it for your convenience. Ample storage shelves and baskets give you plenty of nooks for your toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, handsoap and hand sanitizer are always provided along with abundant fluffy towels and washcloths, toilet paper and tissue.Plum Crooked is an 850 sq ft one bedroom cottage. The cottage is small, four rooms and a bathroom, and there is one closet in the living room with plenty of shelves and room to stow your luggage. Please keep this in mind if you wish to book an extended stay. The home is nearly 100 yrs old and we have tried to retain as much of the original structure as possible in the restoration. Please be gentle with the doors and windows. She was built a wee bit crooked back in the day! The living room has two extra deep velvet loveseats with loads of down pillows and throws. There is an antique writing desk complete with vintage working typewriter and paper, pencils and pens for your own writing inclinations and also provides a dedicated workspace. Multiple usb chargers are included throughout the house. The 200+ Mbps wifi is always lightning fast and reliable. There is a smart TV and an infrared fireplace completes the coziness of the space. The house is comfortably heated with a Toyo Laser heating system and the house is naturally cool in the summer months due to the setting at the base of the mountain. There are ceiling fans in each room and two window unit air conditioners for the hotter months but it is rarely, if ever, necessary. Redundant water heaters, both tank and on demand, provide plenty of hot water for your clawfoot tub time! We also have an air purification unit that runs at all times and the entire house is sanitized via ozone between each guest stay!Our private bridge is the entryway to our wee town haven and you can feel the magic begin as soon as you cross. Plenty of private parking adds to the convenience of our in-town property. Plum Crooked offers a unique blend of small town mountain bohemia, as well as, your own alpine mountainside and creekside venues. Come and be inspired - be transformed - but most of all - be spoiled at our Plum Crooked Poet’s Cottage in the heart of charming Marshall. Each home features its own living areas, kitchens or kitchenettes, bedrooms, and bathrooms, offering flexibility for a wide range of group needs.Estate Layout & ProximityThe three homes are thoughtfully positioned to balance proximity and privacy. Cascade Cottage is connected to Stines House by a covered walkway, and some outdoor areas may be visible between homes. Quiet hours are observed across the estate, maintaining a relaxed, residential atmosphere.Designated dining and event areas are located near the entrance of the property and are intentionally separated from the overnight guest homes. These spaces operate independently and are not included with the overnight rental.Interaction with GuestsSelf check-in is provided for convenience.
