Centurion Hotel Ueno was a complete disappointment, falling short of basic hospitality standards. The deception started right at check-in: the room was explicitly advertised and booked as a ”Casual Double Bed,” but what we actually received was a cramped single bed. This blatant misrepresentation immediately compromised the comfort of our stay.

The lack of care extended into the bathroom, which was a major letdown. The sink and shower area were marred by very bad, visible marks that made the entire space feel neglected and unhygienic. For a hotel that positions itself in a convenient location like Ueno, the absolute disregard for accurate room descriptions and rigorous housekeeping is unacceptable.

I chose this hotel in Ikebukuro for my trip to Tokyo. It's about a five-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station, which makes getting around quite convenient. There's a 7-Eleven right outside the hotel, so it's easy to pick up anything you need at any time. The front desk is on the third floor. Check-in was quick, and you can ask for multiple room cards if needed. There's also a hotel tax to pay, and the staff were all very friendly. For breakfast, you get a voucher when you check in. It's served on the second floor, and the dining hours are quite long, until 11 am. The set meals included in the voucher price are all good, with both Western and Japanese options, plus a self-serve beverage station. However, if it's not enough, you'll need to order and pay extra. The air conditioning in the room was comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, and the TV display was clear. Everything was great except for the Wi-Fi being a bit slow. On the first day, there were two complimentary bottled waters in the room, but after that, you have to go to the third floor to refill your own. For convenience, we just bought water from 7-Eleven. Other amenities like yukatas, toothbrushes, and towels can also be picked up from the third floor. On our last day, after checking out, we stored our luggage and went out for a bit. The weather was very hot these days, and when we returned, the staff thoughtfully offered us chilled wet wipes. They also gave us a warm send-off when we left. Overall, a very good stay.

This hostel is an absolute gem for solo travelers! The entire building has a fantastic design, and the common areas are cozy and spotless, making for a truly relaxing stay. The bed space was much more generous than I expected, with a supportive mattress, and the privacy curtain and individual locker with a password lock provided a great sense of security. There were plenty of bathrooms and showers, all with excellent wet/dry separation, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The staff were friendly, natural, and easy to communicate with. The value for money is unbeatable – I highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the area!

Overall, it's pretty good. If you like a lively atmosphere, you can choose to stay here. There are plenty of restaurants and shops right outside, and it's only a 5-minute walk to both the subway and the airport line. The hotel has two buildings, the main building and an annex, separated by a small street. The sauna and hot springs are on the 2nd floor of the main building. All in all, it's fine; a family of three can sleep comfortably at least.

The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the front desk service was excellent. Our room was in the annex directly across from the main building. The hotel's location is superb, with plenty of izakayas and restaurants downstairs, as well as drugstores and electronics stores. Akasaka-mitsuke is a very convenient area. I'd recommend this hotel if the price is right.

Location is absolutely perfect. Very well connected with 4 metros stations nearby. Room is bigger than average in Tokyo. Staff was helpful. They have small kids corner so our 5 year old can play a bit while we were waiting at reception. Lots of food options nearby, it is a busy area late night but we did not hear much noise. Rooms has windows however those are facing the wall of the next building and it is kind of dark even with curtains open. We stayed there initially for 4 nights and then decided to extend for another 2 night as we liked the place.

The hotel has a large public bath, but its entrance is very close to the front desk, which is sometimes staffed by a woman. If you're staying on the 5th floor, there's no elevator, so you'll have to carry your luggage up from the 4th floor to your room yourself.

I lost my passport but they helped me to find it. And I faced an issue regarding my reservation but they helped it too!
It was two ladies, 01/18(Sun) around 4:30 PM. Please give them a compliment.
The room was big enough for two grown men and everything was clean and quite.
The location was perfect. It was in the middle of Tokyo so it took around 30~40 mins to get the places we had to go.
And also there are some nice Izakaya and Yakotori places around the hotel.
It was such a good experience for both of us. Thank you for the support again.

This hotel is about a 2-minute walk from Sannomiya Station.
The entire hotel, including the rooms and hallways, is clean and stylish.
The elevator hall is on the first floor, and the lobby and front desk are on the second floor. There's a key box inside the elevator for check-out; you just drop your card key in, and you're done.
Only toothbrushes are provided in the guest rooms as standard. Anything else you need, like coffee or combs, you pick up yourself from the lobby. There's also a used towel collection box in the hallway, which shows they're working to cut costs on amenities and labor. I strongly agree with this concept. However, when you get into the elevator from the lobby, the front desk staff bows deeply until the elevator doors close. It's like what you'd see at a high-end Japanese restaurant or a salon. I felt a disconnect in their concept just there. I'd like to stay here again.

This product offers good value for its price, with solid build quality and reliable performance in daily use. It meets expectations and works as intended without major issues. Overall, it’s a worthwhile purchase. If it fits your needs and budget, you can consider buying it with confidence.

I chose Centurion, thinking the service would be great, and it was decent. You can experience a Japanese bath (furo). For the sauna, you have to wait for the top of the hour to enter. When I arrived, it was just before 9 PM, and I saw a group of men and young guys neatly lined up in three rows outside the sauna door. No pushing or shoving, just waiting for the staff to say 'go in.' They all went in naked, very obedient! The bed was a huge capsule, very comfortable. However, they charge an extra 500 yen to store luggage after check-out! This isn't really like a typical hostel; it's more of a men's bathhouse, specifically for guys who come to shower and bathe.
