State-owned, old five-star hotel, not new facilities, safe area, behind is the Ministry of Defense, good location, city view and sea view are available. Breakfast has few options, just enough to fill you up. There are handicrafts for sale in the lobby, not cheap, but exquisite. The lock of the guest room door is broken. According to the national standards for visits abroad, it does not exceed the standard."

GGuest UserIt was good but not allowing food in the rooms was a strange thing, they had overpriced food.
The check-in process was strange, I showed them the confirmation in English from trip.com, but they took forever to find it, stating that they didn't list their hotel on trip.com

J’ai passé un excellent séjour à l’Hôtel Suisse à Alger. L’accueil a été remarquable dès mon arrivée, notamment grâce à la réceptionniste Célia, dont le professionnalisme et la gentillesse font toute la différence. Toujours souriante, attentive et disponible, elle a su répondre à toutes mes demandes avec efficacité et bienveillance. Grâce à elle, je me suis senti immédiatement à l’aise et parfaitement pris en charge. L’hôtel est confortable, propre et idéalement situé, mais c’est vraiment la qualité de l’accueil, en particulier celui de Célia, qui rend l’expérience exceptionnelle. Je recommande vivement cet établissement !

GGuest UserHello, I would like to thank all the hotel staff for their kindness, their professionalism, their understanding, in particular the responder and the manager himself. It was stated that pets are allowed although this is not the case. Despite everything, the people in charge allowed me to keep my animal otherwise I would be on the street after more than 5 hours of driving. Thank you to Trip.com for kindly correcting the information transmitted to the hotel so that other customers do not experience unpleasant situations as could have been the case for me if the staff had not had this humanist background and understanding. Thank you again, cordially. A client who recommends this hotel for all the charm that makes it up, both professionally and for its atypical and truly beautiful style right in the center 👌🏼🙂

SSabohaI arrived at midnight. The pick-up was great, and I was tired, so I went up to my room to sleep. The room was very clean, and I fell asleep immediately. The next morning, I went to my appointment and left my suitcases at the hotel. When I returned, I picked up my suitcases to leave, but I didn't have time to stay and eat. It's a shame I didn't get to try their food; it was Ramadan, and I was in a hurry to get home. I highly recommend it! 👍🫡

MMonique KortoefWe have been to the City hotel three times now and we love to stay there. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful and want to give you the best experience. It’s located at a perfect place. Close to a square, stores and the metro. I recommend this hotel if you want a pleasant stay in Algiers in a nice and comfortable hotel.

This hotel shines with the quality of the welcome, the cleanliness, the availability, the friendliness of the staff. The decoration, the style, the materials of the hotel tell a story charged with emotion. The rooms have kept the style of yesteryear. The breakfast served is very generous and the products are of high quality.
This hotel has a large, very clean swimming pool, restaurants and an enchanting exotic garden.
I will return with great pleasure and with great emotion.

GGuest UserFriendly and helpful staff. However, it was a bit noisy for my taste. The pillows stank of sweat. The amenities have seen better days. The beds are very comfortable, the breakfast is exclusively sweet, and the internet is very good. However, I had a constant headache due to the 5G tower on the roof. 🤯
I had a pigeon nest on the toilet window, which woke me up every day at 4 a.m. They said they would move it somewhere else...but they didn't keep their promise. If you're sensitive to noise and radiation, you should look for another hotel. Otherwise, it was very good for the price.

GGuest UserI loved Hotel Hydra. The purpose of my visit was to see my granddaughter and daughter in law.
The room was spacious and well appointed.
Only minor points could be improved- bath plug didn’t fit, light bulb out. I didn’t report this though. I felt safe and staff were gracious and kind.
If I visited Algiers again I would definitely stay there.
