GGuest UserWe travelled to Coventry for The Wooden Spoon rugby event. The Telegraph was perfect for us, we flew into birmingham and got the bus straight to the hotel £2 each….the location was terrific, shops and restaurants only minutes away. We had room service our first night, food was delicious, really enjoyed the buffet breakfast it had a really great selection. Our room was spotless, the beds very comfortable…air con was very welcomed as it was a really warm weekend….can’t say enough good things about the staff, everyone very helpful and polite…….I would recommend The Telegraph to anyone travelling to Coventry, we will be back.
BBirchdechuntianThe room facilities were relatively new, but the space was extremely small. Once a 26-inch suitcase was open, there was practically no room left. The in-room amenities were quite basic, just barely adequate for essential needs. The overall decor and actual appearance were vastly different from the heavily retouched photos online; the advertising was quite overblown.
The food at the downstairs Western restaurant was good, but the service attitude was abysmal. In particular, the male bartender had a genuinely cold poker face, completely devoid of any enthusiasm or customer service skills, acting as if I owed him a fortune.
DDrLOPSOther than the location (on the University of Warwick campus itself) the hotel is at best like a Premier Inn or other such budget hotel. It feels and looks like a dorm. One note to anyone walking from campus to hotel: there is no direct access from Arts Centre plaza. You have to walk all the way around business school to access car park. This was very inconvenient in the rain as it added a 5 mins walk.
The room was spacious and clean, though the bathroom sink was clogged when I checked in. Resolved the next day (though the first answer I received when asking for repair was that I may have to move). On second night the hearing went out; housekeeping brought a small radiator heater… no repairman came, however. Resolved the next day.
The food was cafeteria quality (both breakfast and dining room). I recommend eating elsewhere. Bar was ok, but not great.
Overall, I would recommend a different hotel for the price, and taking a cab to campus. Sorry
MmalkolalyI booked it for three night as I had some business in the area. Due to a recent bad experience with a budget hotel, i though might have a better value for the higher price. I was wrong. Very mediocre service, small room, funky odour, and limited amenities. For the anount I paid i expected a better value. Staff were helpful though.
NNicky*Absolutely stunning hotel , in acres of land to walk around .
The staff were superb .
Rooms were clean and warm.
Breakfast was buffet style with plenty to choose from.
Will stay again , hopefully to meet the two ghosts that haunt the place .
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is in a convenient location, with Costa, McDonald's, and TGI Fridays nearby. The staff are friendly and parking is free. The room is big and the bed is comfortable. However, the hotel is a bit old, the bathroom had a bad smell, and the room lighting is very dim. Overall, the price feels a bit high for what you get.
ZZhanqianyingBest swimming pool in Conventry, extra £5 per day per visitor, so I didn’t join. Self-check in, no service. Pub and Starbucks downstairs, Friday 4pm onwards free car park until Sunday. Weekday parking fee applies.
板板鸭没有鸭The size of the room is not bad, the location of the hotel is also very good, very close to the city center. The staff at the front desk was very welcoming, there was a little problem with my room card, and the staff was very patient to solve it! Hotel breakfast is a buffet order system, ordered an English breakfast, the amount is really big, the taste is also very authentic, praise!
GGuest UserVery pleasant stay.. pub restaurant offered info on food allergies. Food was great. Rooms (I rebooked) were great, bath and shower that actually did what they said… no getting soaked trying to turn on shower. As a single female traveller, felt safe. Will rebook next visit . Staff are friendly and helpful.
NNight LEfficient for the check-in , £5 was paid for the parking. It was easy for the drivers to find the actual location on the map, therefore I would say it is convenient to reach. What I like about the room is that the design of the room is reasonable and fully functional. The mattress was a bit hard but it is fine for me. Besides, it is seldom to see that the stool is separated from the shower, which is quite considerable. We enjoyed the stay.
