"My husband and I have traveled fairly extensively in the past two decades, but never spent a winter vacation in a beach location. Huh? Now we know what the fuss is all about. Left the December slush of Pennsylvania behind and settled into a world surrounded by blue water, warm sand, lush vegetation and tropical breezes. We stayed in Villa 1, Upper - perfect for a couple - it is large, open and airy. Three sets of double French doors open onto the west and south-facing terrace and it feels like living outdoors. No doubt about it, this terrace defined our vacation. The kitchen was adequate for the cooking we did, but could have accommodated more extensive meals if one chose. (Bring your own knives if you want to seriously cook.) The bed is comfy with a memory foam mattress, linens are high quality and towels are plush. Love the oversize walk-in shower. I had requested beach chairs, and they were waiting for me upon arrival. We had to leave a message about a power outage and our voicemail was returned immediately to learn it was area-wide, not a problem with the villa. The only negative issue was a large and loud family gathering that checked in two days before our departure. I’m not sure what the management can do to stop this, as the tenant agreement is clear about the number of people accommodated by each unit. We did not report it at the time – who wants to be the complainer? They were having good family fun, but it just took a little something away from the peaceful atmosphere. I chalk that up to the differences in what people look for in a vacation. All in all, if we return to Rincon, we would definitely stay here again."
