"The location is good. The service at reception is poor, slow, not very friendly. We stayed in the premium suite, room 120. For a couple they only put a bottle of water, we went to the reception to ask and the reception told us to ask for it in the restaurant, in the restaurant they didn't give us water for the room. In conclusion, we had to go to the bar and spend €4 on two small bottles of water. It's a pain to book a room for 240 euros a night and they don't even add water. The spa, we entered at 4:30 but at 5 pm we were asked to leave, just surreal!!!! Breakfast without much variety! The room was clean but there was not always hot water to take a shower. Conclusion, the first time I come to Portugal with my Chinese wife and the reception here in Caminha was like this. It was the first and last time at this hotel."

"My husband Giles and I took a six day cycling holiday in Northern Portugal that we’d booked and arranged via Inntravel (they are a British company who specialise in walking and cycling holidays). We stayed at three different hotels (each one for two days) and Rinoterra was the last on our travels - and wow did they save the best for last! Rinoterra is set in a small quiet street away from all the hustle and bustle and is just a total oasis of peace, quiet, calm, relaxation and comfort. We’d cycled about 20 miles to reach Rinoterra - the final ascent had been quite steep - so it was a joy to be greeted by Liliana our hostess with such enthusiasm and warmth! She was super friendly and efficient and took the time to explain all the amenities to us (the new spa, indoor pool and relaxation rooms are spectacular!) and we had a wonderful big room with great views across the Rio Minho to the mountains of Northern Spain. Anna, the wonderful chef prepares and serves OUTSTANDING meals! If you’ve got a hearty appetite you will not be disappointed! She was so accommodating as well for me because I’m pescatarian and only eat tiny portions and she made sure that I was really well fed with little portions that were perfectly presented and utterly delicious! There’s a beautiful cosy atmosphere about all the parts of the old house and we were able to just relax and soak up the surroundings after a half day cycling followed by an hour or so in the pool and spa. The whole place is spotlessly clean and ALL the staff were super friendly and helpful. If I win the lottery I am moving in!"

"Excellent Hotel, Quiet, the SPA is great! I recommend ! On the other hand, all the extras are payable (towels for the swimming pool, billiards, etc.) I did not try the restaurant this time. For restaurants, I recommend restaurants in Caminho, a very friendly little village and the food is good there."

"The hotel location is great. Right on the town square and it looks lovely from the outside but inside was terrible. Our room had a superhero cartoon theme which was horrible. It was overwhelming. Why do this in a building of such character. There is a pool which we were looking forward to using but you can’t use it unless you have a swimming cap. They do not have swimming caps to buy so we couldn’t use the pool. Only place in 2 months of travelling we needed a swimming cap. The worst part of this hotel was the staff. They were rude and couldn’t have been more unhelpful. We asked basic questions regarding the town and local place that every other hotel we stayed the reception staff were happy to answer (give maps or recommendations). Not here. They were just rude."

"Wonderful and relaxing environment. Beautiful and interesting house built in 1911 which has retained all the features of that era with some modernisation to accommodate travellers of the 21st century but with no sacrifice to the authenticity of the house. There is a Bodega where you can help yourself to a big choice of drinks which you take a note of and pay at check-out. Andres, his wife and their team are very welcoming and very helpful."

"• ACSI discount in low season. • Choose your own pitch. Excellent pitches, large and small, on withered grass. • Sanitary facilities are mediocre. There are no individual washbasins. The shower is fine, though it's difficult to find the right temperature. • Wi-Fi is free and works reasonably well. • No running water on the pitches. There is a tap at various locations on the campsite. • There is no shop. A few items are available for purchase at reception. The restaurant sells sandwiches from 8:00 am. • Quiet campsite in beautiful countryside. Many hiking trails. • Nice village within cycling distance. Village square with terraces and restaurants. We ate at Baptista. The food was fantastic. Great staff. Not cheap, but worth the price. • Beautiful beach next to the campsite. An even nicer one can be found a little further on. • Drive to Viana do Castelo. At the top of Monte de Santa Luzia stands a beautiful church. • The center of Viana do Castelo was disappointing. Many empty buildings and an unattractive beach where dogs are allowed. There is a restaurant, but we didn't eat there. The road to the campsite/beach is terrible. The campsite can't do anything about it."
