"My adult son and I stayed at Green Hope Lodge May 14th-17th. Booking with Mr. Luan was very easy via Whattsapp. He secured a driver to meet us at HCMC airport. We arrived around 10pm on a Tuesday, had a relaxed morning (Wednesday) in Cat Tien National Park, a bicycle ride that afternoon, the Green Hill jungle tour on Thursday, Primate Center on Friday morning and then private taxi to the sleeper bus stop for an easy ride back to HCMC. The accommodations were rustic, adequate, food was simple and freshly prepared and the rates were reasonable for all. Highly recommended staying here."

Green Bamboo Lodge Resort ★★

"We had a bungalow with a view of the river. The room was clean and the beds had mosquito nets already installed. You can eat directly in the lodge; it's good and there's a wide selection of dishes. The staff was super friendly and helpful! The boss helped us organize a driver to the airport on our last day because the Grab app doesn't work there and our driver didn't show up! The funny thing is that the taxi from the lodge was cheaper and nicer than the Grab taxi, so we're more careful now with the highly praised Grab app^^ You can book tours for the park directly in the lodge; on the first evening we did the night tour. To get to the park you have to take a boat across the river; it's only a few minutes' walk from the lodge. We saw many different species of deer and a few small animals whose names I don't remember. "Jack Bauer" (that's his nickname) accompanied us on the night tour from the lodge. He was super nice and explained and showed us everything. The next day, we went on a private bike tour with "Jack Bauer" through the park to the crocodile lake and the ficus tree! He explained a lot to us and showed us the animals. We saw crocodiles, many different monkeys including gibbons, butterflies, birds, deer species, and geckos. Thankfully, we didn't see a single leech, but it was also the dry season; the locals said it's worse during the rainy season. The bikes for the tour can be rented in the park and are in surprisingly good condition. Summary: great accommodation, good food, beautiful national park, friendly and helpful staff - especially "Jack Bauer" - I highly recommend it!"

Cat Tien Jungle Lodge ★★★

"Oue room was very clean and well appointed. However the hotel is quite run down, it has a pool but I wouldn't get in it, and I didn't see anyone else in it. The biggest disappointment was the bridge construction right next to the hotel . It's very noisy, goes on from 6.30am to 8pm at a minimum, and on our last night was 24/7. One of the big features here is listening to the gibbons call in the national park, but the construction work spoils that."

Thuy Tien Ecolodge ★★

"My wife and I, travelling without any Vietnamese language but with family phone backup available, decided to venture out from our comfortable apartment in Ho Chi Minh City to visit the Cat Tien National Park and experience the jungle. In our seventies and knowing something of the vagaries of travel, facilities and organisation in especially rural Vietnam we were a little apprehensive but the wonderful Tien proved to be a mistress of organisation, care and hospitality and I simply can't imagine anybody anywhere going further than she did to support us and ensure that we had the most amazing set of experiences. I will review the trips she suggested and delivered separately but as far as the accommodation went the single room bungalow plus sizable bathroom was more than adequate with fan, a/c and hot water, clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was wide ranging and delicious and couldn't have been fresher, a wide range of drinks was available and any requests was met with a smile and a helpful response. Where else would a hostess clear up after us as the last guests in the restaurant at 9:30 pm then greet us at 4:40 am, take us to the meeting point for a guided jungle trek and bring us our breakfast at the Park Reception when we return at 7:30? The collection of activities she kindly suggested and arranged for us was truly exceptional and how can I exaggerate the thrill of seeing gibbons in the jungle and listening to them "sing" at ear-splitting volume. Fantastic. If you're prepared to experience local culture and attitudes, push any ageing bones to jump on and off terrifying looking narrow boats and understand first hand just how difficult it is to walk through jungle once you've left the path you may well find the journey as worthwhile as I did. If you do decide to visit I refuse to believe you could find a better hostess than Tien and from my experience I can tell you that she will support you before and during your stay: she even provided us with what I now know are called leech socks. Thank you Tien."

"Had an amazing experience and delightful stay at the forest side eco lodge homestay, owners are so welcoming and helpful and the bot ride to see langurs is a once in a lifetime opportunity to do and it’s a must! Wonderful family and superb food. Can’t recommend high enough for you but to come here!"

"Great homestay and fantastic guide! Host Co is both really friendly and helpful. We even got to taste his homemade fermented vegetables and banana rice wine. He is a guide in the park and very knowledgeable about animals in the park and what to see/where to see it. He assisted us with trips into the national park and rented us good bikes to ride in the national park (Note, it costs 100K dong to get a bike on the ferry to the park, but the bikes in the park are very run down). His wife cooks amazing food and I definitely recommend eating dinner at the homestay. We had an issue with our pickup when leaving the homestay, and the host also helped us here! Definitely recommend!"

"The "bungalow" is decent, it has a rooftop with a tiny hammock. The breakfast was super simple, a banh mi with eggs (I asked for no meat). But there was no tea or coffee offered. The staff is not talkative, but friendly enough"
