"I recently stayed at the Hôtel de Bourbon (the Mercure one) in Bourges, and honestly, it felt like stepping into a little piece of history while still having all the modern comforts you could want. My room was a classic double, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bed was excellent—properly supportive after a day of wandering around—and the bathroom had a great walk-in shower with good water pressure. Everything felt freshly renovated (they did a big update around 2018), with a nice blend of modern touches and the old abbey character. Some rooms overlook the park, which must be lovely in summer."

"Service was abysmal, arrived on time, stood in reception for 10 minutes before being attended to despite several staff members walking past. No indication online or during booking that the Pierrade has to be booked in advance. Seated then waited 15 minutes for menus, then another 20 minutes before anyone arrived to take orders, food was nice, but had to ask three times for bread, Waiters leaning across people to serve others, no manners whatsoever, some items not available on menu but unwilling to substitute other things on the A la Carte menu even though we offered to pay a supplement. Rude, surly staff. Only person who smiled and said thank you was receptionist when I paid. At over 50€ per person this is not a place I will go back to"

"Good location, close by to connecting main roads, and toll roads. Eating places within walking distance, and the staff welcome and attention was first class. Hotel needs a little bit of TLC, but I have to the Aircon in the reception area and the bedrooms was very welcome."

"The beds are bad. The air conditioning does not work, there are no towels. Overall I do not recommend."

"Comfortable Rooms, Excellent Breakfast and warm and welcoming staff. Hotel has been undergoing improvements over the last few years and it really is excellent. Good family orientated hotel which is well thought out for travelling families. However it does need a bigger Car Park. Struggled to get a Parking Space which is essential when using the hotel for a road trip stop over."

In my great surprise at breakfast I find invaded bed punishes and breakfast a free buffet served and reserved several days later. I strongly disconseil and invite health services to review accreditation data to this establishment"
