"For a 4 star hotel, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Even though the building is old, they could’ve done better for the renovation. The room’s walls are quite thin and we heard noise throughout the night. A couple of amenities are missing.. Price and location are fantastic though so if you’re visiting just to go to wineries."

"Absolutely beautiful hotel, amazing staff, stunning room and facilities but still some teething issues. Our suite was stunning and clean. For a LHW there were a few things not there yet such as no wifi in the room and no compensation offered for this which I was surprised about. Rooms aren’t soundproof, lift wasn’t fully operational for part of the stay, no bathrobes, no steam iron, mini bar not fully stock (the local wines weren’t in the mini bar even though they were listed so had to ensure we weren’t charged for these), no addition water provided at turn down service, welcome drink is water or coffee, no shower gel in the shower instead there was bath foam. Terrace is not open yet and still being worked on, the full spa offering is not available as yet. Breakfast was lovely wine cellar has some stunning wines available. I think it could be outstanding by the summer. Just surprised compensation wasn’t offered for teething issues especially as we had to pay data charges as no wifi. Also as a LHW member we were still charged the room with breakfast rate, breakfast is meant to be free this was not reimbursed."

"Very good hotel, the safe enclosed parking lot is with another hotel under the same owner, a little distance away. The hotel manager came to the parking lot to help drag the luggage and lead the way through the back door of the hotel, so that there is no need to go up the stairs, and also gave a welcome drink coupon for the restaurant downstairs."

"Very central location. Lovely room overlooking the terrace. Owner on reception so helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here. Dinner was amazing on one of the nights. Walking distance to the wineries. Locals seem to frequent the hotel and terrace which is always a good sign."

"Great accommodation with plenty to do in the surrounding area. The maintenance of the gardens round the bungalows could have been better as a lot were overgrown. Whilst we are at the restaurant one night, the meal was average. Breakfast was hectic but included in the price."

"Very well located, clean and good beds . It is perfect for a few days . Five minutes walk from the centre. Very nice parking . Exceptionally friendly and adaptable staff . The photos of the web are accurate . Very close to the interested villages of the area ."

"The ultimate experience.......a beautiful old palace that gives you a true sense of place.......and they make you feel so at home that you really feel like you are at home. Location great for Rioja wine country, the restaurant here is amazing, breakfast nice with homemade treats. The hospitality of Daniel and his Mom is second to none. I love the beautiful breakfast room that has great common sitting areas with couches and chairs and such and the music they play is so beautiful....it is always open so a great place just to relax and enjoy the space"
