Hotel El Mirador ★★★★

"Used this hotel as a base for property hunting near Montefrio and surrounding area. For £65 a night including breakfast, this was an exceptional hotel for the price. I have stayed in many similar hotels for a lot more money. Staff were great, very helpful considering we spoke no Spanish and some of the staff spoke no English. The rooms were very modern and the beds comfortable. The location has fantastic views over Loja and is close enough to the motorway to make this a great stop between Granada and Malaga. Prices in the bar for food and drinks were very reasonable, we paid €42 for 3 meals and a round of drinks. The terrace in the Summer would be fantastic to chill out and enjoy the views. Loja is a small spanish town, so it is not reasonable to believe there will be lots of choice for restaurants and bars. Out of season it is quiet, ideal for relaxing. We tried the Spa facilities for €18 each and again the facilities were exceptional for the price. I would highly recommend this hotel for a few nights stop over, providing you have a car."

"We stayed her for one night and appeared to be the only guests. Staff did not speak English but this allowed us to practice or basic Spanish. Room was large but simply designed. There is a large pool out back but we did not use it. Restaurant and adjacent bar are also part of the complex. Hotel was in a quiet location just outside of Loja and would be nice to stay for a few days. Recommended!"

"Somewhere in the middle of nowhere between Granada and Malaga, I chose this ☆☆☆ hotel for price reasons. The hotel met my expectations with one caveat. I received a friendly welcome late in the evening, although the lady at reception didn't really understand the booking system. There was also a can of beer for the thirsty guest. The breakfast was praiseworthy, lovingly prepared for only €8. The beautiful veranda with seating will probably only reveal its charm in the spring. There are free parking spaces on the main road. Now for the caveat: the room smelled really bad. So much so that I got a headache. Even leaving the window open all night at 1°C didn't help. The hotel urgently needs to do something about this."

"Good afternoon. For work, I have to stay in hotels every week, and I have to say that despite being a hotel on the highway and literally in the middle of nowhere, the price of accommodation is excessively expensive. As are the meals. A basic breakfast of a sachet of decaf coffee with milk, a cheese croissant, and ham costs 6.30? Is this a hidden camera? Where do you think you are? You're in the middle of nowhere, so you have to pay such absolutely prohibitive prices. SECOND: On the TV in EVERY bedroom, you can hardly see any DTT channels. Not DMAX, Boing, Clan, Discovery Channel, FDF, TEN, Mega, Canal Andalucía, Neox, Nova, or Atreseries. They say it's because of the antenna signal. NO Gentlemen, it's because they DO NOT want to tune into those channels (I don't understand the reason) If they do not improve (which I doubt) I will refrain from making any more reservations at this establishment."
