Glenavon House Hotel
9.0 (77 reviews)

Glenavon House Hotel ★★★

📍 52 Drum Rd, Cookstown

"Stayed here 20 odd years ago with my children. Stayed over New Year for 2 night with my children and 4 grandchildren. Few issues with 2 of the rooms which were sorted right away. Fantastic staff on reception and cleaning staff. Fantastic meals all round over the two days and staff managed to squeeze us in on New Year’s Day as we couldn’t get booked. Staff in restaurant so friendly and helpful. Only downside we were told kids allowed in pool until 2. Told kids if they get up early and get dressed and have breakfast they could get a swim just before checkout on 2nd January. Headed to pool to be told they weren’t allowed in until after 2 even though pool was empty. Some very upset kids. Never had this before in a hotel. In saying that it wouldn’t put us if going back. We will prepare kids next time."

Belfast House ★★★

📍 3 Orritor St, Cookstown

"Room was spacious with plenty of storage and surface areas. Beds were comfy, shower was amazing and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great. All staff were friendly and helpful. Some nice little touches for children with a toy basket in the breakfast room and a cabinet with books and games to borrow (huge selection of adult books too). Free on street parking and plenty of amenities nearby. Would definitely stay again."

📍 64-72 COAGH STREET, Cookstown

"Highly recommend The Royal Hotel in Cookstown. We have just been for Easter Sunday carvery. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. Our meals were gorgeous and we will definitely be back. The dining room was beautifully decorated. There was also entertainment for young children provided. Unlike other restaurants over the Easter holidays they didn’t increase their prices."

"Outstanding accommodation with exceptional levels of service. My wife and 2 grandchildren stayed in The Belfast House with me in a large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable family room. We enjoyed really comfortable beds, a very well equipped en suite shower room and lovely bed linens and towels. The home cooked breakfast was superb in quality of ingredients and presentation. It was made from fresh ingredients each morning by the proprietor JJ who was friendly, professional and made us so welcome. We will come back in the near future and most highly recommend this establishment which also features a delightful pub. Thank you to JJ and his colleagues."

"My husband booked this hotel as we were at a pool tournament at a near by hotel which was fully booked. Nice quiet hotel. Friendly staff. We were given a free upgraded room which was fantastic. Only down side of the room was there was an unpleasant smell from time to time. We put it down to the drains from the shower/bath? The cooked breakfast was lovely but the selection of breads, cold foods/fruits was poor. The 2 croissants that were available were soft so obviously not fresh. Parking was easy at the side of the hotel."
