Hotel Wendy Mar
"The hotel doesn't promise anything it doesn't deliver. It's a 2 star hotel, it's quite cheap & good value for money. The owner "Roberto" is such a gem. He's trying everything within his power to make his guests happy. He also did our laundry in just one day. Good value for money & very nice location, just 190m from the busstation, without being noisy & still very close to restaurants/bars The breakfast is decent."
Hotel Rosario Lago Titicaca
"This was the 3rd hotel in this chain that we stayed at during our tour and it bore little resemblance to the other 2 which were very good. The room was fine, decent size and clean, but set at the bottom of a steep incline away from the main hotel facilities. At night the path was not that well lit and as you exited the main building by the restaurant to the right was a sharp corner of a brick window sticking out at head level. An accident waiting to happen! Prior to the evening meal we attempted to order a bottle of wine, and sat in the small reception, however 20 minutes later this had not arrived despite the barman being behind the bar during this time. We only received it when they opened the restaurant at 7pm. During the evening meal our group were seated opposite the kitchen serving hatch. There was an overprowering smell of fish (not nice at all), then on 3 occasions we were subjected to strong wind blowing at us, we complained to the waiter and were told it was the fan in the kitchen. It also made it very cold at our table. The food wasn't that great and one of our party did not receive his meal until most of us had finished, despite chasing it. When it arrived it did not have the jug of sauce that the others had received so he asked the waiter to bring it. He was told the sauce was on the meat....it wasn't..he chased two more times and nothing was forthcoming - despite a jug of sauce sitting next to the serving hatch during the meal! Breakfast buffet brought it's own issues, we requested fried eggs from the waiter (same one as previous eveing) - he said only eggs were on buffet these were scrambled. He refused to get us any fried eggs, despite the kitchen staff being there. This was offered at both the other hotels (and all the other hotels on our tour), with no issue so why is it such an issue here??? There is no excuse for staff ignorance, as a hotel you may think what does it matter, they won't be coming back......BUT our tour leader wil,l with other groups and the tour company have the option ot use other hotels! This was the worst hotel of the trip."
Hotel la Cupula
"This is a quirky little hotel and we loved it! The place is spotlessly clean, the staff and owners are all very helpful and friendly. The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious.. It may only have a 2 star rating but we wouldn't hesitate to return and will happily recommend this hotel to everyone. Thank you for a great stay."
Skylake B&B Hostel
"We were welcomed by Sky Lake during a social conflict in Copacabana, Bolivia, when roads and lakes were blocked, preventing people from leaving, for 6 days. The staff is very attentive."
Hostal Eterna Primavera
Hotel Perla del Lago
"Bolivia redefines what basic is, Hotel Perla del Lago is a very basic hotel, shower took sometime to heat up and the water pressure was non existent. Breakfast was average at best, found long black hairs in the bathroom and the bedding was stained. The plug socket in the room needed to be urgently fixed. Booked through Bolivia Hop’s two day/one night tour of Copacabana & Isla del Sol."
