"This was the first hotel I've ever stayed in in Japan where I had to take off my shoes. I booked a triple room. Free parking was included. The breakfast was excellent, and the view while eating was beautiful—it seemed like a popular spot for fireworks displays. When I arrived, I tried to suggest upgrading to a double room for an additional fee, but they said they were fully booked. However, I still saw that it was available for booking through the app. I think it was better to be told that a upgrade wasn't possible than to lie and say it was fully booked. But we weren't bothered by anything, as everything was fine; the bathroom was clean and spacious, with enough room for three people to unpack their suitcases. We used this town as a base before visiting the Kalunodate Samurai Village."

"This hotel previously had very low ratings, and the internet wasn't great either, so I double-checked for hotels in Akita and Okoji. I was incredibly lucky, and especially grateful to Ctrip for booking both hotels on the same day, saving me the hassle of traveling. I was very satisfied. The downsides: First, the hardware is quite dated, and second, the room doors weren't very soundproof (though the doors closed after people returned from the fireworks display, so there wasn't any noise). Third, and most importantly, the hotel management, who seems to be Southeast Asian and doesn't care much about Japanese people, let me check in early and, likely based on the room rate, gave me a very good room. The air conditioner in the room was also new, Mitsubishi, and worked well, although the drain was inside the room. Contrary to the previous rating, the overall service deserves an 8. The staff were very friendly, with friendly smiles and good looks, and the Wi-Fi was fast. Importantly, if you don't need to experience the Okoji fireworks in person, you can watch them from the hotel rooftop. My phone wasn't very good, but it worked fine, and the music was clear and audible. There's really no need to squeeze in with other people, find a restroom, or smell secondhand smoke. Of course, if you want a more stunning and immersive experience, you can ignore it. Walk towards the fireworks festival, about 500 meters along the riverbank, there are free seats, and there are many seats around 10 am. I hope this can help those of you who don’t have tickets."
