One evening, we returned after exploring the area, tired and hungry. The staff greeted us with smiles and helped us arrange a delicious late-night meal, turning what could have been a stressful moment into one of our favorite memories of the trip. Every member of the team was kind, professional, and attentive. Their hospitality made our vacation even more special. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, excellent service, and a place where guests are genuinely cared for. We look forward to staying here again."

"We stayed as a family of three for a 2-day Diwali getaway (2025) at Sterling Darjeeling, booking a classic room with a partial view of the Kanchenjunga range. The room was comfortable overall, though it could use better upkeep — the curtains had visible dark spots, and behind them, we found cobwebs and a few spiders. Some furniture corners were dusty, but the bathroom was clean with good water pressure, and hot water was available most of the time. We opted for both breakfast and dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed the food. A special mention to Chef Sushil, who served us an absolutely delicious masala dosa — crispy, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights of our stay. Highly recommended! The Chinese dishes, however, didn’t feel quite authentic in taste. One evening, the resort organized a lovely bonfire that added to the festive warmth. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, courteous, and attentive. The resort’s viewpoint offers a breathtaking sight of the Kanchenjunga range — truly unmissable. Located a short walk from Ghum station, it’s easy to catch affordable shared taxis to Darjeeling town. The local people are incredibly kind and welcoming."

"One of the worst hotels in Darjeeling. Extremely run down with absolutely no service. This heritage hotel is so heritage, that rats love it. On the 1st night of our stay, we found rats in our DELUXE SUITE that we had booked for 11.5k per night. We were travelling with my 7 month daughter and we were terrified. Does this so called “heritage” hotel know the risks of having rats? Millions of infections could have attracted the baby. Extremely pathetic service in breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. Kindly avoid the hotel at all costs. We demanded that they shift us to the “new” wing which is a little bit better than the old wing. The kitchen and eating area is in the old wing which is not in a fit state to be called a hotel. It’s also not very close to Mall Road, it’s a 5min walk and to reach there you have to walk through a very thin shady lane. Not safe at nights. When they tried to find the rats that had entered our room, they removed the huge pile of dust which was sitting under the sofas and our beds. If you have asthma or any dust allergies, best to look for better options. Mayfair I hear is really good. Please don’t waste your money and health here. Safety rating - 0.1/10 Cleanliness - 0.1/10 Food - 0.1/10 Service - 0.1/10"

The egg delicacies prepared by chef, Sanjeev is worth mentioning. About the location , its a bit outskirts from the city and they dont have their own drop off cars .. so the car rent to railway station was a bit high( rs 600 for 4.4 kms to njp railway station). About the food , price is fine but the chicken was too spicy and not fresh. But overall just for stay i more than satisfied."
