Langstone Cliff Hotel

Langstone Cliff Hotel ★★★

📍 4 Mount Pleasant Rd, Dawlish Warren, Dawlish

"Loved this hotel so much, I'm already looking to plan another visit. I visited with a large group, as part of a choir tour. The room was large and clean. Bed not as comfortable as I'd have liked, but everything else was so perfect, I didn't mind. Food was absolutely amazing, the staff were friendly and helpful. The indoor pool was warm and welcoming. And the setting, what a stunning setting. Sitting on the veranda watching the sea, it felt like paradise."

Cofton Holidays ★★

📍 Cofton Lane Starcross, Nr, Dawlish

"We arrived at Cofton as a couple with a dog and stayed on pitch 23 camping. Very quick and friendly check in and we were escorted to our pitch which was a nice gesture. The EHU was well explained and easy to set up. The site is extremely dog friendly and we were welcomed everywhere.(one of the staff even asked for pictures of our dog) The toilets were always clean and tidy. We had food in Amelia’s which was the only down side the breakfast was over priced with not a great choice, no bowls for cereal or fruit and when asked they never did appear. Also had a couple of desserts the chocolate brownie sundae with dairy free ice cream was lovely but theCofton mess was just a few bits of meringue and a bit of fruit and at £7.50 seems a bit steep. The teriyaki chicken from the chippy was lovely and one portion of that with chips would feed two. The landscaping is well mentioned and the flowers everywhere were in full colourful bloom There was an American Car rally the weekend we were leaving and I wish we had known about it so we could have extended our stay. Over all a great week away and we will hopefully be back"

Cofton Holidays ★★
"We’ve been long term fans of Cofton, we stayed here year after year with our touring caravan up to 2016, we sold the caravan and had taken a break from “camping”. We purchased a motorhome in 2025 and decided one place we’d like to return to was Cofton, both for nostalgia and the fact that the site had always been a great place to visit. We booked a stay in September 2025 and returned in June 2026, both stays were a great success and worth the trek down from SW Scotland. June delivered some amazing weather which always helps the holiday! Staff, as always were really nice and welcoming, some remembering us from our September holiday. Went to the evening entertainment on our first night, different entertainment staff from last year and in our opinion not as good listened to a few songs being destroyed and left, not to return for the rest of our stay, when we chose to go out in the evening we went to upstairs to Amelia’s or used the Swan pub instead. Food is of a good standard and priced about where you would expect. Toilets and facilities were exceptionally clean as you would expect. Sunday carvery served us well!! We stayed in hard standing 100 and due to our “continental door” we faced down in to the park so benefited from all day sun, last year we were on the opposite side and “lost the sun” early afternoon due to the sun going behind our motorhome”. One thing that has always remained is the noise levels as the evening wears on, people around us were really quiet and respectful, as were we. Be sure to download the Metpow app for your electricity, think we used £9.33 in the 9 nights we were there in June but considerably more in September (£30/40 or so for similar stay)due to the use of heating. Cofton as a location is really close to the River Exe trail for safe cycling and a reasonable walking distance from Dawlish Warren, bus stop just outside the park for visits towards Exeter and Teignmouth in the opposite direction if you choose not to drive or don’t have a car or transport. If there was a “but”, I would say that it would be “day trippers” being allowed access to the outdoor pool, I know it makes business sense to allow access as these people are potentially locals who have the opportunity to visit all year round or people who didn’t know of the park who could then be future guests so it’s a win/win as a business, but as a paying customer it changed the whole experience around the pool when there was an influx of visitors, some became boisterous and I observed people leaving the pool area shortly after their arrival at the pool."

The Railway Inn ★★
"Positives: clean room, comfortable beds. Sink in most rooms. Tea and coffeeaking facilities. Negatives: very loud music until after 11pm from the pub until late. Room 4 has no ventilation and very little head room. If the venue had mentioned the loud music we could have made a choice. The review would then be 3/5"
