"Whalesong Lodge exceeded my expectations in all ways! Antje makes me feel so at home and she has been so patient and helpful in all my enquiries! The breakfast and cold cuts for dinner on demand are so nicely plated that I feel like I am having high tea in hotel! Even afternoon snacks and the chocolate given every evening are so nicely plated too! The honeymoon suite view is sooooooo good! I had such a lovely 4 days stay and I wish I could’ve stayed longer. There are so many activities in Gansbaai and I would stay longer if I had known earlier that it is such a nice and quiet town! I should have spaced out my activities rather than squeezing everything in the 4 days so that I can enjoy whale song lodge longer! Highly recommend to everyone who wants to enjoy the sea with great views away from the busy city life."

"As always (this stay having been No.5), we experienced being welcomed and appreciated by Stewart and Willemien! It again felt like returning to old friends. Rooms are nicely decorated and comfy. Breakfast being prepared and served by Willemien and her friendly helping hand Elvis, to us is still the best ever: a delight to the eye and so delicious!!! The only thing that could be improved is to get some flatter/softer pillows for guests with neck problems. Thanks for making this years‘s stay yet another memorable one!"

The rooms tiptop clean and tastefully furnished. But the winner was Monicas breakfast on that same private balcony - very luxurious. The best Muesli-Fruit-cup we ever had and Monica is a star. "

"Martinique was an outstanding host! As the manager of Bellamente, she truly came to our rescue when our original booking at another property fell through. While we were still on our way, she had already arranged everything for us and welcomed us with a warm smile. Throughout the weekend, she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, offering great suggestions on places to visit and dine at, and checking in to ensure all our needs were met. The property is close to the sea and the various look out points with a restaurant situated next door and a little convenience store around the corner. Her attentive and friendly manner turned what could have been a disappointing weekend into a wonderful stay. And to top it off—the beds were super comfortable, and the view from the balcony is absolutely worth it!"

"This was one of the highlights to our trip to South Africa. This was a recommendation by some friends. We stayed in a large bright room with views of the ocean for two nights. Jonathan, the owner and chef, cooked up a delicious multi course dinner on both of those nights. We must have been at least 14 people at the dinner which was a lot of fun. All different nationalities. As I am not a red meat eater, Jonathan switched up my meal to accommodate me while serving a meat dish to everyone else. I really appreciated it. Jonathan and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. The place is clean, comfortable and good value. I’m already looking forward to going back. Would not hesitate to recommend."
