"We stayed for one night in August and had Room 42. It had a great view of the beach and promenade through front and side windows and was larger than we expected. Comfy beds, great coffee, superb breakfast and excellent service overall from Matthias and the team who could not have been more friendly. It was a wise idea to book parking in the underground car park where the hotel can reserve spaces - the directions and description to get there were really good and we felt that the car was really safe and secure, and easy also to drop off bags outside reception and leave the car for 15mins when doing so at check in. As the hotel restaurant closes on Sunday evening we ate opposite at the Au Filet de Sole Restaurant - another great experience and warmly recommended, but wise to reserve in advance. Villa Select has some beautfiul public areas in the bar and restaurant and we imagine it would be superb in hot warm summer weather with the doors open and the sea breeze rolling in. We encountered Storm Antoni during our stay with close to hurricane conditions, but it didn't detract from our stay - just watching the storm and the seas was just breathtaking! De Panne was a great experience and Hotel Select will be one to which we return - thanks once more to the team for a great stay!!!! "

"We have been to this hotel several times- it is perfectly located one street back from the sea front with private parking. The interior is tastefully decorated with contemporary furniture in the communal areas and bedrooms. The breakfast is excellent. The main asset though are the owners Kamoen & Deloffre, who are everywhere and very helpful and friendly. Thoroughly recommended."

"The corner rooms we all had were very large,comfortable and clean. Hotel reception very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good,more than enough for all of us. The only thing we didn't like was the lift! Thought lifts without a separate door had been banned years ago. Apart from that it was an enjoyable stay."

"We just stayed here 1 night to escape the heat in the centre of the country. Arrived at 15:00 and had a nice welcome with water and cake and a quick checkin. I guess this was a top of the bill hotel about 20 years ago, but it looked at first sight dated. This was confirmed when entering the lift and the room. Everything was functioning that is not the issue, just that it is old. Bed is ok, bathroom big enough for two. Wifi code didn't work. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice; healthy stuff and eggs and bacon, fine bread, nutella ;) fruit, etc. We didn't make use of the swimmingpool, nor the sauna and gym, so can't judge that, but it looked ok."

"Small rooms but I had the corner so plenty of light. En suite was tiny, I had to breathe in to sit on the toilet and the shower was like that in a caravan. Probably the laziest hoteliers as they were hardly there and although I paid for breakfast, I had to leave early in the mornings so didn't get to eat anything. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room either and being Belgium, there's nothing open before 9 to get a coffee. It was clean and tidy though . Probably ok for a few nights but no more!! "

"A really friendly staff, an excellent location, a great place in De Panne. We had been there for the weekend, and were sorry to leave because WE would have enjoy to taste the BBQ on Sunday. Next time we'll do certainly. An hotel with a soul, for sure"
