"The hotel is approached by a fairly steep hill but there are traffic lights to avoid meeting someone travelling in the opposite direction. The building is unique and has been very thoughtfully restored and converted. We had rooms 101 and 102 for a one night stay. Both rooms were full of character but well fitted out. Bathrooms were large, well equipped and with good plumbing. There is both a good lift and a wide staircase to the upper floors. On the ground floor is a bar area where tea and coffee is provided by a machine. You can also get beers and soft drinks using an honesty tab. Wine can be ordered through reception. The dining room is a lovely light space. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent quality and very well priced. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The town of Oñati has interesting old buildings and there are nice cafes."

"Friendly hotel in an absolutely beautiful location. We arrived on bicycle, and they were very accommodating about storing our bikes in the garage. The hotel is a very short walk from Arantzazu monastery and at the base of beautiful hiking trails. Breakfast was not fancy but satisfying. The hotel porch was busy when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon but was quite peaceful once all the day tourists left."

"An excellent hotel. Attentive client experience. Plenty of options for eating on site (Cafeteria / Restaurant) Plentiful car parking safe & easy. (no cost) Rooms are clean, spacious & ours had an excellent shower! We ate at the hotel in the restaurant. The food was wonderful. Good sized portions with an abundance of taste. (Fish & meat dish) would definitely use the restaurant again. For breakfast we used the cafeteria area, all self service apart from drinks (coffee , tea etc) As a heads up though it was quiet in terms of people staying, the hotel was packed with people using the restaurant, always a good sign! A really enjoyable stay & would recommend as we would definitely stay again."
