"During the Chinese New Year travel season, there were an incredible number of tourists from Henan. For the price, this hotel's environment was really good. The hotel is laid out like a small community with four buildings, all not far from the lobby. Eating options aren't super convenient, but Dengfeng isn't that big anyway. Overall, it's a great place."

The vegetarian restaurant offered tasty, culturally significant dishes, though the breakfast buffet lacked Western options and the coffee could use improvement. The location is ideal, just 9 km from Shaolin Temple and close to other attractions like Songyang Academy, making it perfect for exploring Dengfeng’s cultural landmarks. As for the receptionist, Miss 李, she was exceptional. Her warm, friendly demeanor and proactive assistance stood out, as she helped with everything from organizing transportation to answering queries with a smile. Reviews consistently praise the front desk staff, and Miss 李 embodied the hotel’s “customer first” philosophy, making our stay feel personalized and welcoming. "Mo Shang Yi Su was the perfect base for our Shaolin Temple trip! The location was super convenient, making it easy to travel back and forth to the temple. After returning, we enjoyed tea and conversation in the tea room, and the herbal foot soak was amazing for relieving fatigue. Our child also got to practice calligraphy in the sunroom. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The laundry room and multi-functional fitness equipment were also a huge convenience. We had a wonderfully comfortable two-day stay here and highly recommend it!"

"I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Wulingyuan. It's very close to the east gate entrance and our room was clean and tidy. There is an option to do laundry at the hotel for free, which is very convenient. In the surrounding area you will find plenty of supermarkets and places to eat as well. The owners are super kind and helpful when it comes to booking tickets for the National park or any other question you might have. They are very knowledgeable about the different attractions and can also offer cheaper tickets if you have not purchased them yet."

"I stayed at this hotel for two nights and three days. Overall, the hotel was okay, but I felt the front desk service at some points was just so-so. Especially the receptionist on the first day – she was very arrogant. When I asked if parking was free or if I needed to scan a parking coupon, she just said, ”Scan it if you want.” Later, when I asked about the 200 yuan deposit (which is supposed to be waived by the hotel now), she just said, ”Different hotels have different policies.” Anyway, I didn't like it. The receptionists on the second and third days were quite nice. The young lady was very friendly and even gave me a small gift at the end. The cleaning lady was also very nice! I really liked her."

"I'm a clean freak, so I stayed at the Hanting Hotel. Haha, Hanting's hygiene is definitely top-notch; it was spotless inside and out. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and in addition to the two bottles of drinking water in the room, they also gave me two complimentary bottles of hot water every day. Very convenient, it's a six-minute walk from the bus station, and taxis to several attractions are quick. Highly recommended! Unfortunately, I was too tired from hiking and forgot to take pictures when I got back. Oh, and the breakfast was very plentiful! Spicy soup, porridge, eggs, milk, cold dishes, hot dishes, fried eggs—lots of choices."

"This is a sweet guest house located behind a tea shop. The sweet owner really makes the experience — going out of her way to make sure her guests are well cared for from food to tea to transportation. She helped us arrange taxis to and from neighboring cities and to the local sites. The Chinese breakfast was very good, local food. And it included hand ground coffee and a visit from the guest house cat."

"The location is amazing and up until the last few hours we were very satisfied with our stay. They gave a free upgrade to their newly refurbished 4th floor and that room really was awesome. We were not aware they cooked dinner well so we are out but should have dined at the Homestay. Breakfast was very simple but satisfying. They provide a transfer to Shaolin in a super nice car and plenty of free water to take with you during the day. So far so good. Now perhaps we are lost in translation but we indicated having a ride to our next stop charging between 260 and 380 through the didi app. Waaayyyy to expensive they said and offered to call a cab. The cab however was 445, a much higher rate. All rates included the toll. We asked about the type of car and were shown a luxury car. That car and that price were similar to didi premier so we said okay. Then they said it would take half an hour. We didn’t want that so said we would just go for the didi. They then said the taxi would be there faster. As you may guess; it was not. We ended up waiting well over half an hour and the taxi was a regular taxi. They ride was good, driver friendly etc but we felt a bit off about the way this went down. Again: could be lost in translation here so if you just arrange your own ride you will have an awesome stay with them. Ask for the nice room on floor 4! Picture is the view from our room."
