"I just got back and ... I want to say a few words about this trip that I will always carry in my heart! I'll start by saying that visiting Madagascar is impossible in a few days because it really offers so much, it has a lot of small and wonderful islands around and a mystical hinterland that although very poor offers those who travel a different vision of the world ... perhaps the real one ... that of people who with little manage to smile, get excited and say thank you again! The village is on a human scale, strategically positioned with respect to the city and the market and therefore to real life! Attention to every detail offers large and modern rooms overlooking lush gardens. The cuisine, thanks to Nicola, executive chef, was excellent! The best I've found in a village to date (and I take at least 4 trips a year!) Very fresh fish, fruit of all kinds, wide variety thanks to themed evenings! There is no complaint for any palate ... two choices of first courses made at the moment, grilled meat and fish for both lunch and dinner, vegetables and fish appetizers ... truly excellent! The sea point is unfortunately not the best but it takes a back seat because the days are spent out on excursions and I recommend you visit the nearby islands and the hinterland because they are really worth it! Excellent assistance from Alessio, always present and available! A person of high professionalism and competence that I hope to meet again around the world! Thanks also to the entertainment ... in particular to the two local boys who are formidable and to our little Sabina (now we have adopted her) an explosive girl, always present and with a great desire to do! A suggestion for those who visit this land .. bring clothes and school supplies for the children with you .... They are really necessary!"

"Nice and little gem resort right on the beach, limited number of rooms with pool a direct access to the beach. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful, good trips to the islands by private boat. Small restaurant but delicious food, with menu changing every day. Breakfast available almost all day!"

"A majestic site nestled between the lake and the ocean. A large white sand beach on the lake side. Clean bungalows overlooking the beach offer good value for money. A boat shuttle is included, taking you there in 210 minutes from Manambato, located just opposite. We ate at the restaurant under a kiosk on the beach. Tasty dishes at a good price. Very helpful and responsive staff. A must-see!"

Hôtel Villa les Orchidées ★★★★

📍 J635+487, Nosy Be

"Pros: Spacious room (we had a Big Panoramic Suite with Sea and Garden View) with a large bathroom (shower) and a huge terrace with a stunning view! The room has everything you need (air conditioning, fan, kettle, refrigerator), and the bathroom fixtures are new and in excellent condition. The bed is large. Everything is great. The hotel is very clean and tidy. The hotel staff is very friendly and eager to please. They arrange airport transfers (80,000 local), and you can book excursions (the price is the same as everywhere else). They try to help with any questions. Cons: There's almost no private grounds, only a small but lovely pool with 5-6 sun loungers (always available). It's a 6-minute walk down to the sea, but the sea isn't beautiful; the bottom is muddy, so no one swims. Cons: The breakfast is very poor (pancakes, yogurt, samsa, buns, some fruit, drinks); you have to pay extra for scrambled eggs and omelets (5,600 local). Water is not provided in the room. The toiletries provided are only soap. But the gorgeous view and huge room make up for the downsides :)"

"We spent 15 unforgettable days in a relaxing and rejuvenating place. Océane and Romain, thanks to their kindness, their attentiveness and their advice, allowed us to fully enjoy this stay. The staff (reception, maintenance, kitchen, cleaning, etc.) is wonderful and contributes to the well-being felt during our vacation. We were looking for a natural and preserved place and we found it without air conditioning and the weariness of large hotels in France, sometimes. I hope this place will remain this beautiful for a long time to come."

📍 Madirokely plage, Nosy Be

"L’Heure Bleue is in a beautiful spot, with a stunning patio over looking the bay. Two pools one overlooking the bay. The staff are excellent and service was very good. The food was first class. I had the garden budget unit, but there are lovely chalets overlooking the bay. Edith at reception, the Manager and the owner went out of their way to accommodate me due to a flight cancellation. Thanks to the hotel for looking after me"

"Good morning, we stayed in this facility in September 2023. A more than satisfactory experience, cleanliness, comfort and services of the facility are of a high level, the entertainment is present but not insistent. I would say the food is more than excellent, always taking into account that we are not in Italy. For the excursions we relied on Eric Hubert (Mora Mora excursions), a very high quality level both for the places visited, for the excursion times which always take place at the best times of the day and above all also for the quantity and quality of the good food and drinking. Finally but very important, the convenience for excursion departures just 10 minutes walk from the village. Highly recommended!!!"

"We stayed here with my family and had such a fantastic time! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, well kept, and perfect for a relaxing break. What really made it stand out was the constant animation. There was always something happening like shows, activities, music (..) so we were never bored. The team kept the energy high and the vibe fun, making it easy to just unwind and enjoy every moment. Also the staff were so friendly and welcoming—always smiling, greeting us, and genuinely happy to help. The property was spotless, and our room was comfortable and well-maintained. Thank you so much for your warm welcome! 🫶🏻 For anyone looking for a beautiful hotel in Nosy Be to relax and unwind, I absolutely recommend this one. 😊"

"Very nice small hotel, right on the beach, away from the hustle and bustle of the city (by tuk tuk about 30 min). Friendly, very nice and helpful staff, very clean rooms, large balcony with a sea view. Fresh and very good food, and young, friendly and smiling people at the pool bar will take care of your good mood with local drinks. If you are looking for a party and animation, this is probably not the hotel for you, but if you value peace, relaxation, rest, then you must choose this hotel."

Emeraude Lodge Hotels in Diana

Emeraude Lodge

"“BEAUTIFUL, sublime, and glorious; Mild, majestic, foaming, free, - Over time itself victorious, Image of eternity!” From “The Sea” poem by Bernard Barton The above words describe the gorgeous scene I woke up to every morning during my stay at Emeraude Lodge. The tranquil atmosphere, quality facilities, helpful staff, spectacular views, scrumptious meals, among other things, added a sparkle to my experience that is incomparable to many other places I have visited. Except for one “day of doing nothing” (i.e. consisting of eating, tanning, swimming in the sea right in front of my room and sleeping in a hammock), I went on several day trips during my stay that were organised by the lodge. I was impressed by the interconnectedness of the lodge with the community during these trips. I would HIGHLY recommend ALL the trips that one can book via the lodge. The daytrips were super fun!! Thank you to Vincenzo and his team for making me feel welcome, and for going out of their way to make my stay superb! I highly recommend Emeraude Lodge! 11 out of 10!!"

"Let’s talk about the advantages first: the restaurant has a good view and can see the sea. The room has a bathtub. Let’s talk about shortcomings 1-The location is very poor. There is no beach. To get to the street, you need to walk uphill for fifteen minutes in the dark on a dirt road full of wild dogs. It is very inconvenient to go out or come back at night. 2- The guy at the front desk didn't tell the truth. The various travel items and car rental prices quoted changed from time to time. The price started from the ground up. One minute, it was 42 pounds, and the next minute it was 72 pounds. I took a tuk-tuk to see the macaques. He said that the round trip cost was 120,000 local currency, and 30,000 was enough for me to hail the bus myself. After joining the group, I found that the travel items he mentioned were completely inconsistent and the condition of the boat was also very poor. 3-During my stay, I had bad juice twice for breakfast, bad yogurt once, and meat that was not very fresh once. The room was not cleaned one day during our stay. The swimming pool is quite dirty, so it's okay to take pictures, but there are all kinds of dirty things floating in it when you stand in it. In short: at first glance, the room looked okay, but it was all a routine and the conditions were limited. One of the staff at the front desk was untrustworthy and very uncomfortable to deal with."

Nosy Bay View Hotels in Diana

Nosy Bay View

"A beautiful place with a lovely view. The room is spacious and comfortable, with hot water in the bathroom. What makes this hotel so charming is the simplicity of the place and the owners. We'd definitely stay here again, as the prices are affordable for residents like us who work in Nosybe. It's very clean, and the pool is lovely. You can recharge your batteries in a welcoming and quiet place. We'll definitely be back."

Tropical Paradise Nosy Be Hotels in Diana

"The positive points Hotel well located on the beach. Helpful and accommodating staff. Meals and room correct The negative points The advantages of full board are difficult to identify (one time choice from the menu, one time choice from the board, one time choice from both...light breakfast). No generator in case of power cuts which are frequent on the island."

"Village of medium size, where everything is within reach. Beautiful, spacious rooms, relatively recently built and with modern furnishings. Excellent cleanliness, both in the rooms and in the common areas and green areas, always impeccable. As for the food, it can certainly be improved: as an Italian in a Veratour village, I would have expected more, especially for the pasta/first course corner (2 choices are really a bit few) and the "sweet" breakfast. In any case, nothing to complain about, you eat well and there is a choice. The sea point in front of the village is not great, but then again, you are almost always on an excursion, so you don't use it that much. However, if someone was thinking of a more "sedentary" holiday then I wouldn't recommend it... sure, the water is clean, but it's certainly not the sea you expect to find in Madagascar! What you see on the small nearby islands is completely different... enough to leave your heart! The beach is beautiful, long enough for a walk and fairly clean. The excursions are all beautiful and each magical in its own way.. do as many as possible! Be careful about the period you choose.. a good choice is the first week of October, when the temperature is good (max 30° during the day, 21-22° in the evening) and sunset is at 17. A little early, but in the following weeks, when the days get longer, the rainy season also begins!"

"We were a family of 5 and spent 4 nights at Swisscocobeach. The location is perfect - literally on the beach, offering stunning ocean views with the relaxing sound of waves. The food was also a highlight as every meal was a treat, with fresh, delicious ingredients and a menu that catered to every palate. From seafood feasts to tropical fruit breakfasts, each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. Well done to the Chef, staff and especially Sammya! They were incredibly attentive, friendly, always making sure that we had everything we needed. Their warmth and professionalism made us feel pampered from start to finish, creating a genuinely welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The whole experience was a dream come true—perfect for anyone looking to unwind and escape the everyday. It truly felt like we had found our own little slice of paradise. We left feeling refreshed, recharged and looking forward to hopefully returning in the near future."

"Had a great stay in this place. I was specifically looking for a place in Ambatoloaka since tours to Nosy Iranja leave from here. The hotel’s location is great. There are lots of restaurants, bars, shops, and ATMs nearby, and the beach is only a short walk away. The staff is great. The free buffet breakfast was good with varied selections, the restaurant serves good food too. The room i had was great, all rooms have a sunset view. Laundry service was very cheap. I also loved the fact that they accept credit cards—- many hotels in Madagascar don’t, including some fancy ones. It’s such a hassle carrying a huge pile of cash upon check out. Had to deduct a point though cause the pillows provided were very hard! The wifi was also very spotty if you’re not in the pool area."

"Hello, we visited this "resort" in march '26 with in total 3 friends and stayed in a luxury lodge with sea view (room 14). The room was big enough for 3 persons, nothing to complain about that! Everything was very clean and up to date. Towels and shower gel are also present. Please note that there is no air conditioning but instead you have 2 fans at your disposal to get some fresh winds. In March it was very moist and hot, so some nights it could get warm inside the lodge. The rains in the night made it even a little hotter. Food and drinks was very good and more then enough choice. Even some special requests were possible if you asked. Prices all very affordable. The personel was more then OK, once you have a connection with them they will do their absolute best to please everyone. Definitely a recommendation to visit this perfect resort."

"Stayed here for 3 nights. We were welcomed with a refreshing juice and a towel. Friendly staff to welcome you. The pool was a rim flow which gives you a great view of the ocean. Was good to be in a pool as our last lodge unfortunately didnt have a pool to cool down in. Food: Breakfast was OK, nothing WOW very simple continental breakfast. Lunch and dinner you choose from a menu about 2 hours before. Fresh seafood! Nothing is too much trouble for all staff members and being only English speaking we didnt battle to communicate. We did have some problems with sand fleas which unfortunately made it slightly unpleasant and left you itching so take lots of antihestamine cream Overall Philippe and his wife have a wonderful place and will recommend for some R & R"

"Newly opened boutique hotel with 4 modern rooms. We had the pleasure of being their first guests. From the beginning, the communication was spectacular. We were greeted warmly by Anne Marie and Pieter upon our arrival, shown to our room and offered a welcome drink. Right away, we felt as welcome there as if we were family. The property is neatly manicured and taken care of with attention to detail. They offer a nightly homemade dinner special. However, we were planning to go out for dinner, but ran into issues with our flight causing us to be on the phone for hours. When hearing this, our hosts offered to make and bring us dinner even though it was nearing 10pm in the evening! Truly going above and beyond. They offer food, beverages and personal airport transfer all for very reasonable prices. Above all else, Anne Marie and Pieter are truly likable and genuine in nature and we would not hesitate to return to stay with them in the future!"
