"A very warm welcome from the top employees apart from the animators who are unpleasant and above all who only speak German!!! The reception staff (Mohamed in particular with whom I often had to deal) are very kind and attentive, the pool attendants Amine and Akim are at the top of their kindness and smiles 😁 very good food, all the Tunisian employees are really at the top!!!! just one fault that I can highlight is the lack of consideration for travelers who are not German!!!! Thanks to Mohamed for the welcome, to Amine Akim, the pool attendants for making my stay pleasant despite this lack of consideration for the French!!!!"

"We ended our trip to Tunisia with a few days in Djerba! Dar Chick Yahia is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Houm Souk and enjoy some family time! The beach, just a 4-minute walk away, is truly incredible, beautiful, and practically deserted (we were there in early November, but it was 25-30°C and the sun was at its zenith). The sunset is definitely worth seeing! The dar itself is lovely, and Manuel, Sofia, and their team are fantastic—attentive, kind, and full of great advice. Thanks again!! Djerba Resort- Families and Couples Only

"We have just had a wonderful 7 night all inclusive stay at Hotel Djerba resort, for just £267 each, including easyJet flights (but we didn't have hold luggage). You cannot take money into Tunisia. We took 500 dinar out from the cash machine at Djerba airport, as it wouldn't let us take out more. There is also a cash machine in the hotel reception, but this only lets you take out 300 dinar. You can't often pay by card in Tunisia. So make sure you have cash. The hotel let us check in at 12 when we arrived. Pool towels were 20 dinars each, fully refundable as long as you keep receipt. There was tourist tax to be paid upon arrival at reception, it was about £43, we paid on card. The hotel WiFi was good, but I got an eSIM 15 days £9.20 5 gig from esim.sm so I would be able to use internet and call and message via WhatsApp outside the hotel. The hotel is 35 mins drive from Djerba airport. There is a taxi rank outside the airport. We asked the driver of the yellow taxi the price, he said 35 dinar, which is very reasonable, so we gave him 50, and he then became our driver for the holiday. He took us around the island wherever we wanted to go all day for 150 dinar a day- we arranged the route with him beforehand. The island is compact – just 200 square miles –it is possible to see all highlights in 2 days. Eg day 1 El Ghriba Synagogue, Djerbahood and Houmt Souk (the capital), Day 2 Djerba Explore Park, and Musee De Guellala. Also the taxi to and from Midoun (the local town) is just 10 dinar. Midoun has a few shops. There are a few shops within a 10 minute walk of the hotel also. All shops/souks in the area sell the same sort of things, and are reasonably priced. If you don't want to haggle go into shop, not the souks. We bought a small bowl for 4.5 dinar, a kaftan dress for 50 (possibly could have got that cheaper in the souks but I liked it), and some leather sandals for 20, from fixed price shops. It is a little bit difficult to find bars/restaurants that serve alcohol in Tunisia. Beach bars that are open and serve alcohol are not very frequent at this time of year. We went to Hotel Dar El Bahr (40mins walk with sea to the right) and La BARAQUE BEACH (20 mins walk with sea to the left). We were disappointed there was no beach bar we could use on our beach (which is a 5 minute walk- turn right out of the hotel, left at the end of the road, then right to the beach). Especially because there is a sister hotel of ours on the beach- Vincci Dar Midoun, but the security guard on the beach told us we cannot have a drink there, and said there is nowhere we can get an alcoholic drink on the beach (All the beach bars close to our hotel are part of all inclusive hotels, and they don't allow outsiders to buy a drink there apparently). We also booked a pirate boat trip to Flamingo island through the hotel. Flamingo island is not an island it is a sandy peninsula called Ras R’mal. "Spent a week here in May. One of the best all inclusive hols iv had. Its clean, plenty of food on offer, free pool towels provided, bottled water in the room daily. Entertainment staff were brilliant & the beach was cleaned daily. French & Tunisian is the main spoken language however most staff have good English too. Iv booked my 2nd visit here for September and very much looking forward to it."

"Where do I start, I have NEVER in my life gone on a holiday and been made to feel soooo uncomfortable, most of staff okay 1 male (social media calls himself nabeel) PREDITOR will play nice on first day banter etc then he starts grabbing you, he refused too give us drinks unless we gave him social media, when you say no he becomes rude and doesn’t serve you - 1 night during entertainment in the hall he asked us to join him at a Tunisian club very persistent wouldn’t stop ( out of politeness as we feel awkward said ‘mayb’) he then grabs my arm leaving bruises saying yes or no!! He then says too my friend stay here I will give you as much vodka as you want (you pay for drinks after 10pm) he then continued bringing vodka too the table despite us saying no! Whenever we went outside for a smoke he would follow, everywhere we went he followed even too the point of the female toilets!! He was blowing up our social media despite removing him, constant calls etc we spoke too management who was not bothered at all ( asked for info said he was ‘sacked’ however was still working after as 3 females on holiday we felt very unsafe and wasn’t enjoyable. They then at end of holiday charged out card £33 twice claimed it didn’t go through then got demanded too get in the managers car too take us too a ATM where we gave another £33 bars in mind this was for 2 drinks we had after 10pm please stay clear we have a ongoing investigation with our holiday provider. Also beach isn’t what it looks like full of algy and dirty. Awful awful holiday"
