"This was very basic accommodation. We booked 3 single rooms and none of the doors locked properly from the inside nor did they unlock from the outside. We had to be issued master keys. The bathroom was not properly clean: revolting drain in shower and hairs on the rather grubby floor. At £98 this was far from satisfactory and very over priced. Not recommended."

"We stayed here for one night on our road trip up to Orkney. Two adults and a 13 year old. We were not expecting to have the 13 year old with us, and had to phone on the day to see if she could be accommodated in the two person room we had booked. The owner said that they would make up a third bed in the room, though it would be a tight squeeze. Well it wasn't a tight squeeze, the room, even with three beds in, was the most spacious room we stayed in on our road trip, and had a huge bathroom, beautiful circular bay window, and a three person couch as well. The beds were the most comfy we slept in on our trip, from the mattresses, to the duvets, to the pillows (I even took a photo of the label on the pillow to try to buy the same for home!). The location of the place is fantastic. Dornoch is a beautiful village, and the stunning beach is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. A perfectly stunning beach. Breakfast was wonderful, home cooked and tasty. The owners were friendly, hospitable and helpful without being intrusive. The whole B&B was quaint without being out dated, and my only regret is that we couldn't stay more than one night. "

"We visited in order for my husband to play golf during his 60th birthday trip. Arriving with only knowledge of the golf course, we were dumbfounded at the charm, the elegance and the graciousness of the staff and Links House itself. Pip, who is so very helpful, met us upon arrival and escorted us to the most wonderfully decorated and spacious room we have yet seen during our travels. So well done that we spent time discussing how we can redecorate our master at home similarly. Dinner and breakfast there were so delicious and enjoyable. The chef and staff outdid themselves with both the food (again…exceptional) and the service. Frasier, Phil, Kyle, Moria and Pip should be lauded for their personable approach and welcoming manner. We felt privileged to stay. Whilst my husband golfed, I enjoyed shopping…a bit too much perhaps …, walking the village and the golf course. The proximity to the beach was a twice a day walk and provided peaceful times of absorbing the beauty around me. We came for golf, but we will come again and again to stay in such an exquisite and welcoming home. The only lacking item was pretentiousness. Bravo all around and we look very much forward to our next visit."

"We just enjoyed a perfect two day break staying at this wonderful guesthouse. What a warm, warm welcome from Angie, who looked after us like we were royalty, with such kindness, warmth and generosity. We had two rooms and each was enormous, very cosy with spacious bathrooms en suite, comfy armchairs and comfy beds. The gardens are ample and beautiful and there is a real sense of peace about Woodlands, thanks to its architecture and its general cosiness. It's a two minute walk to the coast and a two minute walk to the town; Angie was a treasure trove of local information, and a treasure of kindness, too. We felt as though we were staying in a special family home. We had a wonderful time...possibly the warmest welcome in Dornoch!"
