"We just returned from a multigenerational trip to Winnetu and cannot recommend it enough. We traveled with our preschooler and his grandparents, and met up with friends who were also traveling with their toddler; the resort managed to delight every generation at once, which is no small feat. It is genuinely one of the most family-friendly places we’ve stayed. A special thank you to Tim at the concierge desk, who was thorough, warm, and went well beyond what we expected. When one of our more discerning senior travelers wanted a proper sweet tea, Tim created one from scratch that was absolutely superb; small touches like that are what set this place apart. Greg, Charles, Innocent, and the rest of the Winnetu staff made our son (and us) feel special, and we cannot thank them enough. The food was excellent across the board. The burgers at the pool were delicious, and the chocolate chip cookies were some of the best we’ve ever had. The highlight, though, was the clambake; it was beautiful, perfectly done, and honestly felt like something out of a movie. We left already planning our return. If you’re looking for a resort that treats families, kids, and grandparents equally well, Winnetu is it."

"It's quaint and accessible to restaurants and shopping. I don't walk, so we drove to shops and to eat on the water. It's a short drive to the Chappy Ferry and I would recommend it. There's nothing over there except the Japanese Gardens, but we drove around and it's worth the ferry ride for an 'adventure'. It holds 3 cars. They provide breakfast, which was nice...muffins, fruit, quiche. Sarah (I believe that was her name) was helpful with information for the island. We had arrived the day before and drove the Island, but our Ferry to Nantucket broke, so we had another day. She made some great recommendations. We saw the Gingerbread Cottages and Morning Glory Farm. The rooms are a bit dated as indicated in other reviews, and it smelled a bit musty when first got in, which I worried about because of my sinuses, but we opened the windows and it was fine after a bit. They accommodated me on ground level as I have 'gout' and stairs are hard. Although there were a few stairs up, I did ok. There was a fridge. Bed comfy. separate living room area. Wifi was a bit spotty, but it did work. We enjoyed our first stay on the island and staying at the Ashley Inn."
