"⚠️ Warning about theft in this hotel I want to warn other travelers about theft in this hotel. My mascara was stolen directly from my cosmetics bag in the room. I used it in the morning before our hike, then we left the hotel around 7 AM and returned late in the evening. Housekeeping came during the day while we were away. The next morning, as we were checking out, I reached for my mascara again — and it was gone. I searched everywhere: all my belongings, under the bed, through the blankets. There is absolutely no other explanation. It disappeared only here. We were traveling as a group, and in the room next to mine my friend experienced two separate incidents: someone opened her sealed pack of coffee and poured out half of it, and later she discovered her sunscreen was missing too. These are items no one would ever think of locking in a safe — who hides mascara or sunscreen in a safe? Yet these are the things that were taken. The hotel’s reaction was extremely disappointing. The staff only called the housekeeper, who of course denied everything. They said they would “check the cameras”, but realistically, what will a camera show if someone simply slips a small item into a pocket? Obviously nothing. I have many small items in my suitcase, and I honestly won’t be surprised if I later realize more things are missing — you simply cannot keep track of every tiny item on a trip. What’s truly shocking is that the basic sense of security is completely absent here. When staying at a hotel, you expect your room to be a safe space. Instead, even the most ordinary personal items can disappear. I have never experienced anything like this before, and the staff’s attitude made it worse — they looked at us as if we were making everything up, which is absurd. I have no reason to lie about a missing mascara that costs about as much as a night in this hotel. Overall, this was a disturbing and unacceptable experience. I strongly do not recommend staying here."

"I liked staying at Cumbres Nevadas a lot. It is very clean and the rooms are a good size. Breakfast had everything I wanted and you're free to have coffee or tea at any time including from their nespresso machine. There's a lobby with comfortable chairs near check-in that I went to sometimes for a change of scenery. Other people are around, often coming back from or going to a hike, and I had a few interesting conversations. One key thing is that the people who ran the hotel were very nice and helped us with deciding where to hike. The recommendations were great! Then, when my girlfriend had a minor medical issue and I texted them via WhatsApp at around 11:00 PM, they responded right away and helped us find a nearby clinic. Looking back, the thing I liked most about Cumbres Nevada was the generally positive feeling about the place. People, including the people running it, seemed happy."

"I really liked the hotel. The most important thing was that it was very clean. The staff were super, friendly, helped with all the necessary information, with tickets, with a taxi. The trails to Fitzroy and Torre start nearby. The supermarket is not very far, although there is not much food there, keep that in mind. The room was comfortable, everything you need is there, even coffee, tea, sugar, butter, etc. Every day they give you a box with food for breakfast and put 2 eggs. Excellent apartments."

"We stayed 2 nights in a studio apartment. The accommodation is like a backpackers hostel but with less facilities. It is very basic and in need of maintenance. Don't think there was a single piece of furniture without chips and scratches. I can forgive a lot, but mould in the bathroom, constant noise from the shop next door (yes, the walls are thin), and an extra charge of $100 for cleaning in the kitchenette is unacceptable. Don't expect fresh towels or any guest services during your stay. Yes, the bed was comfortable and the location is central but for the price paid, they must do better."
