"We enjoyed the beautiful garden where we watched birds after guided walks in Tikal and another ancient Maya site. We especially appreciated the restaurant on site. I recommend the stuffed squash for dinner and Mayan eggs for breakfast. We watched several species of birds feast on bananas that staff at affixed on wires. Our little cottage was snug, secure and quiet. Staff secured a knowledgeable guide for our trips to the ruins."

"This location was the highlight of our trip to Guatemala! The location is fantastic as it is right near the town of El Remate and lake Petén Itzá so there is plenty of food and places to relax when needed. The food and rooms at the hotel are great as well. You are just a short shuttle ride from Tikal without having to deal with many crowds. The best part of the hotel is the abundant nature in the area. It is right next to biotopo cerro cahui which is a sanctuary for many bird, mammal and reptile species. We saw many amazing species of wildlife right in the hotel grounds including blue-crowned motmot, howler monkey, gartered trogon, and helmeted iguanas. While we were there, one of the hosts named Santos was extremely helpful in pointing out lots of these animals and where to find him. He was an excellent host and was extremely knowledgable on all the local wildlife and plants. If you are looking for a nice and relaxing spot near Tikal to enjoy lots of wildlife I would highly recommend this spot!"
