"stayed with family in early August 2026. The hotel definitely is a grand hotel that stands out in the valley. Its architecture and ambience is amazing. Positives: Hanna one of the staff members at breakfast was just amazing! Such warmth and hospitality and and genuine nature was really appreciated. Thank you. Negative: The Gin bar was a waste of time. The barman was rude and looked like he did not want to be there. I ordered a drink which was ok. But seemed watered down. I could not taste much! The next day my bank statement showed that he had charged me double! I went to query with him when he was next at work, but he was so rude and did not want to be any help! I did not keep any receipt and wanted to point out the error. I am annoyed that he was very dismissive and could not care any less. This left a very bad impression. Avoid at all cost! or check your bank statement to make sure it does not happen to you too! The room we stayed had three beds in the old part of the hotel overlooking the mountains. whilst the room and beds were fine, there was no ac or coffee making facility or mini fridge in room. The nights were very hot. The hotel rooms creak if someone in the next room is walking. The other point is that the sink is placed outside the bathroom. The toilet and showers are small and adequate but seperate. We thought the room and balcony looking out on to the mountains was amazing. Breakfast was ok. fairly basic continental. The worst part was the carpet at least in room 225 it had stains on the floor and was in dire need of replacement. The hotel has the grandiose presence and is very nice and within 5mins walk to the train station. We enjoyed our stay on the whole. We also enjoyed the walk up to the hotel though the tunnels.. quite unique and definitely giving the Shinning movie vibes."

"Go somewhere else! During the weekend there is a nightclub downstairs and impossible to sleep. The problem seems to be well known by the staff, but even after calling 3 times the reception desk between midnight and 1pm, the loud bass music persisted!"

"Great place to stay; not far from Engelberg city centre (approx. 25 minutes walk or 302 bus; bus is free like all buses in Engelberg). Good connection to Titlis / Brunni / Furenalp so you can choose your activity without much planning depending on the weather. Staff is friendly and extremely helpful. We had some special food requirements and hotel went extra mile to meet these without making any fuzz – we have been really touched by their approach. Rooms are big and comfortable (we stayed in room 17, first floor), clean and quiet. Breakfast is good, good choice, no complaints here. Restaurant across the road is very good as well. Pool is great!; we visited in March, we have been using it every day after snow-filled activities, no crowds, usually we have been alone. Our daughter loved it, slide being obviously the main attraction. Small shop with all essentials is a welcomed bonus."

"We have visited this hotel many times and this is the first time back since COVID. The hotel is beautifully situated in the Lucerne area and Engleberg is a great place to unwind and be truly 'in the mountains'. This are has so much to offer and has plenty to do all year round. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and welcoming the rooms are very comfortable and clean. We hope to be back next year! "

"We had a fantastic stay at this budget-friendly, apartment-style accommodation near Titlis Resort! The place was incredibly clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with lovely balconies to enjoy the fresh mountain air. It’s just a 5-7 minute walk to the slopes, making it super convenient for skiing. The location is great for outdoor activities but can be tricky for dining since transportation into town stops around 6 PM, meaning a .6-mile walk each way. However, the nearby Coop was perfect for grabbing groceries and cooking in the apartment. Amenities were well-maintained—the ski room was ideal for storage, and the washer and dryer were a plus (just remember to bring detergent!). There are extra charges for additional towels, but everything was spotless. The only downside was the beds—not the most comfortable—but the duvets and pillows were nice. A huge bonus was the great park for kids, making it a solid option for families. Despite a few small inconveniences, we’d definitely stay here again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
