"We stayed at Tukai Amboseli Resort for five nights in May while attending a wedding, and we had an amazing experience. The views are absolutely breathtaking — seeing elephants and wildebeest during breakfast and having clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro from the pool was unforgettable. The food was great, the safari drives were excellent, and we saw lions, giraffes, hippos, zebras, and more. The biggest highlight of our stay was Louise from the Kids Club. She was absolutely incredible with our children (aged 8 and 10), who wanted to spend all their time with her. She went above and beyond every day — taking them swimming, playing games, darts, and doing creative activities constantly. They absolutely adored her, and she made the holiday extra special for our whole family. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for such a memorable stay."

Tawi Lodge

Tawi Lodge

📍 Tawi Conservancy, Amboseli
★★★★★ 9.6 (47 reviews)

"Tawi lodge has a peaceful charm, with incredible views and wildlife often wandering near the cottages, which makes every moment feel close to nature. Our guide, Moses, was outstanding. He went above and beyond to help us spot a wide variety of animals, always positioning the vehicle for the best views and photos. He was patient, knowledgeable, and never rushed the drives — truly making every moment special. The cottage was spacious and beautifully put together, with an ensuite bath, a hot shower, and mosquito nets that made it feel both cozy and comfortable. The lodge is close enough to Amboseli National Park for quick access to game drives, yet tucked away in a peaceful spot with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The watering hole in front of the lodge is a real treat — you can sit back and watch elephants, zebras, and birds stop by to drink and bathe during the day. The food was excellent, with abundant vegetarian-friendly options and fresh, flavorful meals served every day. Combined with the warm hospitality and outstanding service, our stay at Tawi Lodge was truly memorable."

Ol Tukai Lodge Amboseli ★★★★★
"An incredible safari experience in the heart of Amboseli National Park. The location of Ol Tukai Lodge is simply breathtaking, with amazing views of Mount Kilimanjaro right from the lodge. The rooms are comfortable and well designed, surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife. It’s unforgettable to see elephants walking close to the lodge. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and very attentive, making the stay even more special. The food was also excellent with a good variety of dishes. A perfect place for anyone looking for a true African safari experience with stunning landscapes and amazing wildlife. ⭐ Rating: 5/5"

Kilima Safari Camp ★★★★★
"Overall, the hotel met our expectations. Accommodations are a hybrid between a safari tent and a full-fledged cottage, creating a positive atmosphere and the feeling of a safari trip. Drinking water is provided in glass bottles, refillable upon request, and adapters for EU to UK standard electrical outlets are available in the shop. Meals are provided on a board basis (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)—the selection is relatively limited, but you'll definitely not go hungry. Only tea and coffee are included in the drinks. Even though we requested accommodation for four people, an extra bed was only added upon check-in (we went on a full-day safari, and everything was ready when we returned in the evening). I booked and pre-paid the safari through the hotel using a bank link. I also bought lunch boxes for the family—the set consisted of juice, an apple, a boiled egg, a sandwich, and a cracker. Overall, I probably wouldn't have needed to order anything if I'd eaten a fuller meal before leaving. However, given the six-hour trip, the picnic added a touch of extra atmosphere—with its own touches of a littered picnic spot, but this is national park territory, not part of the hotel. To book a safari, I used this email address for organizational communications: sales@madahotels.com. Below are brief details from the correspondence regarding cost (prices as of my trip in December 2025). Transportation in Safari by 4x4 vehicle: · Transfer to or from Amboseli Air Strip to Kilima safari camp: USD 45 per pax (Minimum 4 pax) · Exclusive use of vehicle for full-day game drive: USD 350 per vehicle per day (maximum 6 hours) · Exclusive use of vehicle for half-day, arrival or departure airstrip transfer, and one 3-hour game drive: USD 300 per vehicle · Maximum 6 pax per vehicle · Guest park fees for entering the park for a game drive are not included. Guests would be expected to pay park fees directly at the park entrance. · A picnic lunch will be charged at $25 per person. I chose the 6-hour option; in my opinion, 3 hours is not enough, and the price difference is not significant. The national park entrance fee was paid separately upon entering the park. For my family of two adults and two children, aged 8 and 14, I paid a total of 37,714 shillings. Incidentally, the hotel is located just a few minutes from the entrance to the national park, which is certainly convenient. I didn't have an international bank card with me, and a hotel staff member kindly helped me pay for the national park entrance using m-pesa, a mobile payment system. I returned the payment to the staff member in cash in dollars and shillings (the shilling exchange rate was 125 shillings to the dollar, which was reasonable for a safari, compared to 129 shillings to the dollar, which was the official exchange rate at the time of the trip; for example, on the way to the safari, we encountered rates as high as 120 shillings). The guide was friendly and engaging; we liked him. At dinner, despite the fairly well-lit paths, hotel staff escorted guests to their tents. This is a wildlife habitat and can be seen as a safety measure, but it's also an added level of service—the hotel grounds are quite large, so don't refuse. A friendly welcome upon check-in, assistance with paying for the national park entrance fee, and the equally attentive and friendly service from the restaurant staff are also offered. We stayed for one night and didn't use the pool. It was a cloudy day, but we didn't have much time, so we continued our journey the next morning to a new location. I read in some reviews about price adjustments upon check-in—advice: carefully choose your accommodation type and number of guests when booking. I booked through trip.com, and navigation through the accommodation options was generally straightforward."

Tawi Lodge ★★★★★
"What a fantastic place to stay when doing your safaris in Amboselli area. The grounds are explicit, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable, the atmosphere is amazing, the quality of the food is fingerlicking good and the staff are brilliant and simply the nicest people. Would recommend to anyone, including families with children. There is a fun and comfortable pool and deck chairs overlooking the waterhole where you can just relax with a drink and watch the animals as they come by. There a lovely colourful birds checking stuff out and the staff makes sure that the funny monkees will not become a nuisance, Would recommend going for the bush walk with Masai guide; you learn and see new things. - Beds are very comfortable - Shower takes long to warm up, if at all. Would recommend the staff to place a large bucket to not let water go to waste and use to water the plants. - Staff is super helpful, taking care of your room and protection against mosquitos. - Kilimanjaro view is majestic. - Food is amazing (!) but way way too much (three course for both lunch and dinner; after the first day we opted for one big meal a day and just took a starter of a main for the other). - No need to go to the national park every day. The conservancy is just a beautiful and suitable for game drives. We encountered Craig the famous elephant multiple times! We would love to come back one day!"

Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli ★★★★★
"We booked a 14 day sky safari, after the flight from Nairobi to Amoseli National Park the Elwana Tortilis camp was our first stop, it has a view over the valley and Kilimanjaro from the restaurant and bar. The tents have been set up pretty private, but you had to head downhill from the main entry. Bob and Zed had been very helpful, the team was amazing and made us feel very welcome. Jonathan was our guide, he picked us up from the airstrip with a welcome bite, not only soda and water was offered, if you wanted even wine! We have seen almost all the"
