Mopane Bush Lodge ★★★★

"We camped under the iconic baobab for 2 weeks. Please know that you will be sharing it with the noisy red- billed buffalo weavers who constantly drop their thorny twigs. The wind blows the fine, powdery red sand everywhere, but then it is a bush camp. Not much activity at the little dam near the site, just 2 Egyptian Geese and a Sable. There are no self drives, and on a pensioner's budget, the drives are too pricey. However, the drive from the gate or the main lodge to the campsite is about 5km. We were fortunate enough to see two male lions drinking at a little trough, some giraffe, buffalo, 5 rhino, jakkel, steenbok, zebra, waterbuck, warthog en route, and even klipspringers, nyala and springbuck at the lodge. The 24 campsites among the Mopane don't offer much shade and the twists and turns make it difficult to access. BUT if you are looking for something uniquely different, then this is the place for you."

A great pool, and bar with a snooker table. These hosts have honestly thought of everything! The rooms are most amazing and the food even better!!! They welcome your children and even show them around, introducing the kiddos to the resident bunny, cat and doggy. All I can say is that we will never stay anywhere else when we are in the Louis Trichardt area!!!"
