Vaya Galtür Paznaun
"We have enjoyed the suite, very spacious, new, well equipped and well heated. Food was very good, a fish/seafood option was available every evening. The pool is good for small kids, saunas were great and never crowded. Staff attentive and helpful, we have enjoyed every minute. Bus stop to both skiing resorts is right in front of the hotel."
Alpenresort Fluchthorn
"Nice hotel with beautiful rooms and friendly staff. Surely a family advisor"
Hotel Rössle
"Stayed in this lovely hotel for a week in January for skiing. Absolutely immaculate. Staff were happy and polite at all times and were so helpful. Quality of food was amazing. Pool and Spa area was lovely. A great way to end a day skiing. Ski bus stop right outside so couldnt be better. Will be back.!! Not a negative thing to say. Thank u."
Alpinhotel Monte Superior - Silvretta Card Premium Betrieb
"Great hotel, spacious and very clean rooms, great food, close to ski bus . We stayed for 6 nights and dinners were different and delicious every niggt. Will stay here again"
Alpenromantik-Hotel Wirlerhof
"Just returned from the Wirlerhof in Galtur. This traditional Austrian gem is beautifully appointed. Excellent service from multilingual staff and tasty cuisine to satisfy everyone with menu choices including Vegan. Perfect location with bus to Ischgl or Landeck stopping outside and lifts to local slopes just yards away. Wirl is very peaceful but the Wirlerhof has an apres-ski stube and provides evening entertainment. Having said that there is no disturbance from the venue in the other areas of the hotel. The ski boot room provides heated boot racks but not individual lockers. There is a ski rental shop next door too. The owner is always present and attentive to guests needs. We will definitely return and can thoroughly recommend."
Hotel Almhof
"We've just returned from an exceptional skiing holiday at this hotel in Ober Wirl, up the road from Galtur village. I can't fault anything. Our main reasons for selecting this hotel were the ski-in-ski-out location in Austria, with half board, being in a smaller resort with other non-skiing facilities as options - eg pool, sauna, massages, walking routes etc. Everything was top class - the welcome, ambiance, friendliness, professionalism, food (goodness what a selection and quality), room size & cleanliness. Nothing was 'off the menu' in my opinion. The tour company we booked with fell very short on our transfers and left us at the bottom of a steep hill approach to the hotel, leaving us to pull our heavy luggage several hundred metres up to Reception. Mattias helped to arrange a taxi for the return on departure day, along with some food to make up for a couple of meals missed as a result, at each end of our stay. Whether booking yourself, or as a package, I would advise you ensure transfers 'airport to actual door' are in place. It was easy to find and access all the hotel facilities and it was genuinely on the slopes. We were very lucky with our spacious, clean and well appointed double room in a quiet location on the first floor with a lovely view back down the valley to Galtur village. There was loads of storage in the room too. I might have been disappointed if allocated a similar room at the back, overlooking the carpark, so be aware if you're booking in the future. Also, being very British, I like to be able to make a cuppa in the afternoon. So we took a travel kettle and a few teabags&milk of my own, as these aren't provided. However this wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me, given that everything else was top notch. I do hope we can return to this place, and are even considering the summer to try out some of the walking trails. Our days of wanting to ski from first lift to last are over, so we don't need the huge ski areas any more. However if that's your preference, it would be easy to ski across/down from the hotel to very near the free ski bus stop and go to Ischgl. There are many ski pass flexible options, including ones which include a couple of days in that area. The ski hire place staff were also friendly and helpful, so can recommend them too. There isn't a shop in Wirl for snacks souvenirs etc, so this would need a walk or bus trip into Galtur for this. We didn't feel the need during just one week to go off site though, and the prices in the various mountain restaurants were very reasonable (if you even have room for any more food) - so refreshing after having skied in France for many years. I must thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone - it's clear why guests return each year. I shall finish with "Go, and Enjoy""
