"Reasonable place but very very basic. Room was clean and bathroom decent Aircon noisy but effective . Noise generally travelled easily . Location handy for town Breakfast basic It’s a traditional place that does the minimum I’d be hesitant to recommend"
Tenuta Sant'Ilario
"A wonderful 12 days staying at this fabulous residence. We arrived during the hottest few weeks of the year, with temperatures reaching almost 40 degrees. The setting is the perfect spot. Panoramic views across the Tuscan countryside. We were located in the main building, a spacious room, well presented and spotlessly cleaned every day. Each morning we woke to a sumptuous fresh breakfast. Full continental and freshly baked, with pastries, fruit, yoghurt, scrambled eggs and cured meats. Plus of course fresh coffee, which after the first day, was prepared just to our liking without asking. The pool area is a few minutes walk from the main building and is lovely. Again, spotlessly clean and with great views. The property is spread over several acres. Rooms are in the main building, by the reception and breakfast room. The apartments and villas spread around the estate. The team in reception are so helpful. When we were a little too hot in the room, providing extra fans. (It was unusually hot, 10 degrees more than normal). When we needed local guidance, they provided it. So friendly from start to finish. Anything to consider? The road down to the property is rough so if you arrive in a low slung sportscar, beware! Otherwise its all good! Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, all within half an hour. Florence and Pisa only a little further. The two nearest towns also very lovely and with some great places to eat and drink. A great base to explore this region of Italy from if you want to stay in one place. On leaving our hosts left us with a lovely parting comment. We were continuing travels towards Pisa, they told us 'whilst you are in Italy you remain our guests, if you need anything please do get in contact'. Thoroughly recommend."
Il Defizio
"Beautiful location! The view is stunning. Quiet countryside stay. Close to many small towns for day trips if you have access to a car. San Gimignano, Pienza, Certaldo. Pool access during Summer months. Too chilly in May when we went. Great value! Very reasonably priced. We were a family of 4 adults and one child. We were all very comfortable within the space. Breakfast and bar drinks available at an extra cost. Hosts were helpful, friendly and kind. Overall we would highly recommend this stay."
Tenuta Quadrifoglio
"Tenuta quadrifoglio..... Where do I even begin?? What a magical place. We were lucky enough to get married here just last week and I'll never forget how amazing this beautiful venue was, the pictures don't do it justice. We booked out all accommodation for 64 of our guests and every single room/apartment was pristine. Everything was clean and worked perfectly with it's beautiful tuscan decor, there were no complaints or issues with any of our guests. We did have some small children with us including my 2 & 3 year olds so I would say if you're traveling with kids to check out the apartment descriptions on the tenuta's website when booking as some had quite steep stairs, we stayed in Rosmarino which was all ground floor and perfect for us as our two toddlers could roam around freely. The pool was wonderful, the perfect size with a kids area too. The surrounding area was clean and well kept, we enjoyed plenty of time there catching up and enjoying the absolutely stunning views. We loved the little hidden park and the toys down by the bistro, there was plenty to keep the young children entertained the whole time we were there meaning we could relax - both were fantastic touches. The FOOD! The whole time we were there we ate at the bistro and it was devine, I didn't eat one thing that I didn't like - beautiful! Francesco is a fantastic cook and the dishes were amazing. The waiting staff in the bistro were also wonderful, they looked after us continually - even running food/drinks orders to the pool or rooms when we needed it. Must give special mention to Bridget and Kristana who looked after us so amazingly and attentively, my children loved them both and had them tortured. I can't sing the praises of Grace at the front desk enough, she was fantastic through our whole stay and she went above and beyond to make sure we had a magical stay and wedding which we certainly did. Her male counterpart at reception was also superb (I'm so sorry I didn't catch his name!) We are now back in Ireland and all of our guests are still chatting about what an amazing time they had and how wonderful this venue is. We will definitely return to Tenuta Quadrifoglio and highly recommend anyone to visit - you will not be disappointed."

"I had a lovely stay at Renai e Monte. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were very accommodating. I purchased wine and olive oil from their shop and would have had fresh bread delivered if I had stayed longer! A day trip to Pisa was a breeze and San Gimignano was only a half hour away."
