Hotel Igeretxe
7.8 (80 reviews)

Hotel Igeretxe ★★★★

📍 Muelle Ereaga Kaia, 3, Algorta, Getxo

"It's a decent hotel, although it's clearly old. I think it's a 3-star hotel, not a 4-star. The bed is gigantic, but not particularly comfortable. There are no slippers or robes. The floor in the lobby is bleached."

📍 Calle, Muelle Ereaga Kaia, 4, 1ª Planta, Algorta, Getxo

"Very nice and helpful staff, good localization, clean rooms and corridors. To sum up it is a good place to stay for few days if you have some buisness to do nearby."

📍 Los Chopos Etorbidea, 12, Algorta, Getxo

"I can’t quite get my head around some of the poor reviews. We were staying here for two nights for the Europa league final. When we checked in the staff were great with all the information, and the hotel manager informed us on the night of the game she would be staying up late to ensure everybody was back okay, a classy touch. The hotel itself is located in a really quiet area, 5 minutes walk to the metro, 15 minutes to the nearest beach, and loads of bars within a 10 minute walking distance too. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and great value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again."

📍 Zugatzarte Etorb., 51, Getxo

"Lack of empathy, flexibility, and rigid treatment. They only care about making money at any cost. After a misunderstanding with my reservation, the hotel was completely inflexible, even though the situation could have been resolved with a little understanding and flexibility. What was most surprising was the lack of proactive communication on their part. I didn't even receive a simple attempt to contact me to confirm my presence, which could have prevented this situation. Unfortunately, the response from the assistant manager, Xavier Caballero, was completely inconsiderate and lacked any empathy. Instead of trying to understand both sides and seek a reasonable solution, he simply blamed the customer without showing any interest in finding an alternative. In my opinion, this type of attitude reflects a serious lack of tact and professionalism, essential characteristics in an industry like the hotel industry. It's a shame that, instead of valuing customers and their loyalty, they prioritize solely the economic aspect without any consideration. The lack of flexibility and empathy in such a simple situation has left much to be desired. I hope that, at the very least, this experience will help you reflect and improve your treatment of guests."

Hotel Artaza ★★
"Rip off. They charged us an extra night because we checked out at 12:03 Completely unacceptable. And with rude words. Avoid like the plague. No sense of customer service whatsoever. Also very bad service at the terrace and again everyone was rude."

Ercilla Embarcadero Hotel ★★★★
"⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Good location and friendly service The hotel is very well located, with lovely sea views and a pleasant atmosphere. The décor is tasteful and inviting, and the staff were attentive and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast was enjoyable, with a good selection and a nice setting. On the downside, I felt that the value for money was not quite in line with the price. At around €880 for two nights including breakfast, I expected a more spacious room and a more premium overall experience for a four-star hotel. In addition, although breakfast is officially served until 11:00 a.m., by around 10:30 a.m. several items had already run out and were not replenished promptly. The breakfast area also seemed a little understaffed. Overall, it was a pleasant stay thanks to the excellent location, beautiful views, and kind staff, but there is room for improvement to better match the price point."
