"Quiet place to stay and rest, cross high mountain to here, good for rest"

"We are staying at the Hotel Onya in Bellwald for a long weekend. Reviews of the hotel were good and unfortunately with the emphasis on were. It seems that a lot has changed over time. We booked a room with a view of the valley via Hotelcard. Like others before us, we were given room no. 5 (parking lot/mountain). The rooms are clean and well-kept, the mattresses are a bit hard. There are only toppers if the family rooms are not fully booked. Anyone expecting a warm towel will be disappointed. The towel warmer doesn't work and the towels don't dry well in cool temperatures. Unfortunately, the temperatures have dropped in the last few days, but that hasn't prompted the operators to turn on the heating. So we had breakfast in freezing temperatures and it wasn't any warmer in the evening. Somehow there was a constant draft and if you don't move, you can have a blanket against the cool room temperatures! So we weren't surprised that we were the only guests on Sunday evening and Monday morning despite it being the holiday season. The food used to be very good, but today it's more peppery. Two of the three main meals were anything but good. If you arrive by car, we recommend parking your car in the car park opposite the hotel. The first day costs CHF 7, 2-6 days CHF 6 each, which is quite a bit less than the hotel price of CHF 10 per day. That was it for us."

"Beautiful hotel in a quiet location with excellent access to the winter sports areas (alpine and Nordic). A generous selection of delicious and beautifully presented dishes. Guests can dine in one of the most beautiful winter gardens. Very friendly and attentive staff. Clean rooms and a relaxing spa area."

"We booked the hotel on a whim, as we were looking for an overnight stay near the Source du Rhone golf course and the Baschi restaurant. It was a very positive surprise: the staff were very friendly, the rooms clean and a pleasant size. The bathroom was also very clean and, above all, equipped with very good products. Very good breakfast buffet. Not huge, but everything is of very high quality. For electric car drivers: there are two charging stations in front of the building (I assume they are 11kW wall boxes). Registration and billing via QR code and website (info from hotel reception). Despite being on the main road, it was quite quiet at night. It seems to have been renovated not too long ago; the materials used seem successful and high quality. If you still need to do some shopping: a large Coop is right next door."

"We had a successful stay around and can only recommend this hotel. The room was beautiful, bright and very clean. Breakfast and dinner were excellent – everything was very delicious. We also liked the good choice of different beers. Another plus point is the parking place directly at the hotel, making the arrival and departure very pleasant. The location of the hotel is also ideal. All staff were very friendly, careful and helpful at all times. We felt well from the beginning and were happy to come back!"

"There's no elevator, and the room is incredibly small. Living in the attic, I couldn't even stand up. They also deducted a 100 Swiss franc cleaning fee the day after I checked out. The reason was: there was water on the bathroom floor. My question is, how could I shower without a separate wet and dry area in your bathroom? And why didn't you provide cleaning tools when I was supposed to clean the room? Also, I brought my own disposable towels, and they said I left them on the wooden floor and caused damage? Beware! If you don't have cleaning experience, don't come here."

"In July we were allowed to spend a week at the Hotel Furka in Oberwald. The hotel was very well maintained and so well thoughtful as carefully modernized. The rooms furnished with wood and straight-line furniture are generous, comfortable and warm. To the comfort, good beds, cozy seats, an extremely good lighting, a beautifully designed bathroom and not least the perfect cleanliness. The excellent kitchen, served by hearty and very careful service staff, we enjoyed in the tastyly designed restaurant. The hotel is driven with heart and awe, with respect for the family tradition, which is also engaged in the future. It was a pleasant stay in every respect."
